FWIW According to LOB’s Uncle on BigFooty.
Charlie, Harry, Martin, Williams, Gov all good to go.
TDK, Cerra, Boyd 50/50 at best.
No mention of Doc.

Didn’t we beat Brisbane in Brisbane, GWS in Sydney and Port in Adelaide this season??

Not GWS in Sydney

If we win in Brisbane, will you drive the kids to Sydney again? LOL

Young has to play. Has improved our defence over the past two rounds. 14 goals conceded across 2 games, we were conceding that many per game before. And D50 stoppages seem to be the main source of oppo goals, so they can't be pinned on KPDs. Forget the past, focus on the now.

Re: Owies dangerous tackle... was that the chasedown in the centre square that won a HTB free? If so, I'd use the Dangerfield Unstoppable Momentum (DUM) defence.

I agree Young plays. Hipwood and Daniher are not physical forwards. Perfect match up for Young. It's the power forwards that he struggles against. As a side note our defense hasn't had Kemp's opponents kick a bag in the last few weeks so that has helped.
I would retain Kemp forward and get him to sit on Andrews as suggested by another poster. We need to free up Charlie and Harry. I would be inclined to put Cincotta on Zorko. Everything they do across half back starts with him. Last year Coleman killed us. Zorko is playing the Coleman role and doing it well. He would be very high up in their B&F. We need to shut him down.

I would be surprised if Binns retains his spot in the heat of an elimination finals. Young guy did ok but not much defensive pressure yesterday. All their good passages seemed to go down his wing. He had one tackle for the match. Out of the young brigade I think Lord holds his spot ahead of an injury prone Cerra.
I like the kid.
Bondi, you mentioned Rayner. He is the match up stressing me out. I think we give young Cowan the job. Rayner is breaking tackles at will this year. Cowan makes his tackles stick and has more speed than I initially noticed. I also think he is disciplined.

Some great problems for our MC to have for a change.
There is nothing more I would love than a fresh Charlie lighting up the finals. With all the shit he copped last year, he is due a huge match winning performance and what better time than in an away final.
Thank goodness we have all this footy to talk about for the next fortnight.

Young is an interesting one. Thought he was ok the past 2 games and he can do a job for us…..strictly no kicking though. Seriously. Handball only but if he has to kick, 60 metres up the line only.

Further to this tell the guys receiving in the back pocket not to switch back via Young or he's in a worse position than they are and without the kicking skills

Don't recall the incident.

So In: Charlie, Harry, Martin, Williams, Gov
Out: Motlop, Binns, Durdin, Carroll, Fantasia

Motlop has lacked any real impact for the last month.
Binns is unlucky but a bit light for AFL level right now, especially finals, needs a solid preseason or two.
Durdin, Carroll, and Fantasia all see to be carrying significant injury niggles and/or fitness issues that are restricting them.

B: Saad, Weitering, Cowan
HB: Newman, Young, McGovern
C: Acres, Cripps, O Hollands
HF: E Hollands, Harry, Kemp
F: Martin, Curnow, Williams
R: Pittonet, Hewett, Walsh
Int: Kennedy, Cincotta, Owies, Lord
Sub: Moir

Emergency: Fantasia, Binns, Lemmey

I'd prefer to keep Fantasia in the team, although he may have been injured setting up Motlop's goal. Both Martin and Williams are the type who can come in off zero prep and put in a match winning performance, but selecting both might be a punt too far.

I think Fantasia, Williams and Martin are all gambles on whether they can play out a full game. Moir can pinch hit at either of Williams or Martins role when they limp off.

One too may talls IMO. Need to swap one out for a crumbing player with pace I reckon.

I’m also nervous about playing Martin given how much footy he’s missed this year.

How the hell is Owies suspended for his tackle (that awarded him a free kick), whereas Liam Jones only gets a fine?

Geez this game is ridiculous!!

Just saw that.
I am buggered if I know what the difference between the 2 was.
Owies got a free.
I give up.

Yup, and Jones got a free kick paid against him for said dangerous tackle!

The old "we don't want to deny Jones his first ever final" get out clause....

Yep. Fantasia equal team high goal assists and tackles inside 50. Our 5th most metres gained. The goal he kicked and his inside 50 pass to Kemp, no one else in our team has the skill to make those IMHO. We've seen how our other players can butcher the ball going inside 50 recently. He's low possession but high impact. The type that could come out and kick 4 or 5 in a final.

We can't play Kemp and Martin up forward with Harry and Charlie IMHO. And we shouldn't play Kemp and McGovern down back with Weitering and Young.
So IMHO, either Kemp, McGovern or Martin misses out. And don't make the one missing out sub. Moir deserves a shot in the 23.
