Same for me, barely slept.

Bloody hard work being a diehard Carlton supporter.

Did he really? I was at the game so I have not heard it.
But I will add BT is a moron and was wrong again.
We were not out of the finals at that stage.

From what I saw of the Owies tackle, he pinned both arms and dragged him down in one motion rather than threw him forward with a second motion. If anything, to me, it seemed that Higgins threw his own head down. And clearly, he was able to continue playing - maybe, the argument is that he never would have nailed the match winning goal if he was fully conscious???
However, given the current environment, I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets suspended. Not sure if that would be for one week or three.

I am pretty sure I read today that Liam Jones will escape suspension for a similar tackle.
Nothing yet from the AFL.

Pros:

Gutsy effort with the personnel available. Was always going to be harder 2nd week in a row against stronger opposition.
Cripps, Acres, Newman, Cincotta, Carroll.
More encouragement from Lord, Binns and Moir.
Kemp was good in the 2nd half.
Oli was very good in the last quarter.

Cons:

We've had a poor record this year in the tight games.
Conceding goals again from defensive stoppages.
Umpiring was diabolical for the first 3 quarters.
Didn't get enough out of Weiters. Walsh's disposal was poor.
Young was alright, but his kicking out of defence was horrible.
Small forwards. Fantasia was alright. And Durdin looked sore. But Motlop was awful again. Owies not much better.
Brian Taylor's commentary. We never hear the end of Richmond's and Collingwood's injuries when he commentates their games. But Carlton just have a few players out. And the game was a dead-rubber for the opposition.

Moir looked more dangerous than the other 3 small forwards - durdin, motlop and owies. plus he can clunk a mark.

He matched Motlop's output in 1 quarter. Actually looks quicker and more nimble than both Motlop and Owies.

Saad's a terrific player. He's wonderful as a one-on-one defender. But he's a serial offender at those defensive stoppages.

I'm surprised BT wasn't up in arms about the St Kilda players throwing their heads toward the ground when tackled. Oh yeah, only Carlton players do that.

Yep, he's a terrific player but goals from stoppages can be blamed on Saad in a couple instances.

That must change for Finals. I'm sure he's been stung by the footage.

from memory the dons weren't too upset he left, bcos of all his defensive shortcomings (they perceived).

he's a run and gun HB flanker. if we're getting the defensive shortcomings, lets cut him loose this finals and let him run.

You mean let him run with the midfield because all the defensively accountable mids we have will cover for him?

no, no... when we have possession of the ball. voss has at times given him license to run (from HB) through the middle looking for the handball give and play on quickly. remember when he led the league in bounces (2022 i think) and the nearest guy to him had over a hundred less bounces?

lets bring back that saad for the finals. that hasn't happened this season, at all.

the offset is that if we turn the ball over saad is about 75 metres from his zone position/ man. but if we play fearless and back ourselves to score from those dashing raids, we're not being countered. lets go down swinging.
