Nice try…

The average minimums might be higher but Sydney’s weather’s been an absolute shitshow for the last five years!

I spend 40% of my time in Canberra these days and it can go down to -10 there at night but I’d still take that over the soggy, mouldy mess Sydney’s become.

It used to be that Sydney got twice Melbourne’s rainfall.

These days it’s more like triple.

Not sure what you mean by 'nice try'.

I know a lot of people are coming from Melbourne, and I'm hearing them say they look forward to escaping the cold. ie they think they are coming to good weather.

My point is and I've told those Ive spoken with that its not much warmer in Sydney this week and be prepared to rug up and bring a rain coat. Should only be sporadic showers, but very cold at night, or cool for some. We're all built diufferent.

I'm heading to Canberra next week and the following week too for a bit of fun. I love that city. Weather in Canberra is nothing like Sydney. It's colder than Melb.

Sydney covers a huge land mass; bigger than London. Not sure which parts of Sydney you're referring to, but I'm on the coast, 6 kms from city, and its not mouldy here. Its all sand and the water disappears pretty quick.

I go to the beach regularly even during winter, and for me and my visitors from Melb it hasn't been a 'shit show'. Maybe we've been lucky or just carefree. Water temp now 19 degrees, but this polar blast is something else, so I'm sending out a warning ... Homebush is not near the city or the coast. So ignore the Sydney temp you see on the news.

GWS ground is a Boutique stadium, and it seems Carltonians are coming in bulk, and they will make the place rock...hopefully warm it up too.

I go to Sydney pretty regularly Bondi and have many friends and business associates there.

Every time I go over the last few years (since the first of the string of La Niñas) it’s been @#$%&! wet and miserable. All those weather patterns hanging over the length of the east coast have been stopping all the nice sunny winter weather from crossing the continent and instead it’s been pushed down towards Adelaide and Melbourne.

And when I’m not in Sydney I’m talking to someone from there and they’re complaining about how @#$%&! wet it is all the time. I visited a supplier in Mona Vale in February last year. We went to the pub for lunch. It wasn’t that long ago they did a renovation. The inside of the place was like a steam room from condensation and there was mould growing everywhere. Supplier said it’s everywhere.
Been here since 82 we seem to go 4 to 5 years where it pisses rain then 4 to 5 years of drought .

We are about 3 years into the pissing rain cycle

haha ... nah, not even smug. it's a wins & losses business and with 1 ruck our team balance is just about perfect and we're a very hard team to play against and an even harder team to beat. the solution to the ruck problem is for harry to get more physical and a more fitter and put up some meaningful minutes in the centre, imo

kennedy is interesting. his versatility is obviously winning him a spot over hewett - who i rate as a better mid. still, i thought they'd rest bam bam.

lots of people on facebook losing their mind over ollie and orazio getting a spot over hewett. again, it's team balance and their roles. hewett won't run goal square to square 15-16km a game like ollie and he doesn't run into the decoy areas or lead the front six around like we have orazio doing.

Matty Cottrell coming straight back in is a big shock for me. Been along time out.

Match Committee must rate him very highly. Got some wheels in the team with the Holland boys, Sherrif, Cotts, Walshy and Cerra.

I now truly expect us to beat every team, if their collective heads are in the game from the first bounce.

I guess it is Hewitt vs Kennedy for that one spot. Kennedy provides greater versatility as a pinch-hit, marking forward.

Cotts for the Sub?

Yeah I think Cottrell will ease back in as sub.

I thought Hewett had been playing really well before last week.

Difficulties of being a good team.

I recall Cottrell was known as the Super sub before he cemented his spot in the team.

Was enjoying a great year before injury.

I will be surprised if he’s not sub, but he must be cheery ripe if he’s bypassed the VFL

WELCOME BACK COTTS

Did you have a mould issue Sydney.

Truly, I haven’t in any of the homes I own, and they aren’t all on the beach.

I remember the 3 months of rain GWS was referring to along east coast. A lot of homes on George’s and Nepean rivers got flooded and mould was an issue. Same in a few mansions in Vaucluse and Paddo which sat on top of water table, nothing to do with floods, but rain is the source of table rock streams.

I can’t say Im in Sydney all year to know, but I’ve renovated a few homes over the last 20 years and didn’t have issues when roofs were off.

Maybe I’ve been lucky. Maybe my interstate visitors pick the best time to visit. Only 2 months ago I was praying for rain when I saw my water bill.

Surely GWS stays in nice hotels, and his clients have dry and healthy offices and cardboard boxed products are protected in air conditioned warehouses. Shirley it’s not mouldy everywhere. Certainly not my neighbourhood on the sand, so not everywhere.

Next time you’re in Sydney and you need a bed I’ll arrange a hammock off the ground for you if you can’t find a mould free place to sleep. I couldn’t think of anything worse TBH. Very unhealthy.

Easy jake

I’ve made it clear I don’t care if Vossy chooses one or two rucks, and gave plenty of reasons why 2 rucks would be considered. This week it’s wet. GWS only have one ruck and Ricardi.

Vossy has already proven he would play 2 rucks when he sees fit, when you and Braithy said he wouldn’t.

It’s the bullshit stats to make a point that dirties the water and integrity of the site.

I will always respond to bullshit stats on this site. I don’t get intimidated.

I’ve read the responses and I’m glad civility has returned to the site. No one is overtly smug nor suggesting Voss has made the right or wrong choices this week.

It’s a great team. I hope TDK continues with his form and becomes consistent. Harry should do well against Riccardi. Not all teams play one ruck. You know last years Premiers didn’t.

8 H&A games to go and a month of Finals. As I’ve said all along, For lots of reasons, I will not be surprised to see our team with 2 rucks.

If Vossy doesn’t play 2 rucks in Finals, I will back Vossy and cross my fingers. I hope you and Braithy can do the same if he selects 2 rucks.

I also hope we haven’t jinxed our rucks and we have to go with Pitto as sole ruck in Finals.

Regardless, we have before our eyes the best running team I have ever seen in 50 years. I also believe we will keep improving from this base. What’s the base? It’s knowing what our game looks like and what every player needs to do to beat any team anywhere, including SCG.

We may have a hiccup or two if we lose focus, but we will bounce back and and Vossy will right the ship.

Let’s wait and see what happens with the rucks. There’s always going to be 21 or 22 other players who we have to remember are out there backing up each other, playing our way.

I wish for your team a huge win and a percentage over 120% after this Saturday. The 4 points will do

 Stronger Together

Stuff people on Facebook losing their mind. Pressure on spots is a valued commodity. This is not the final product. Vossy is in charge. It’s his team not the facebookers.

Great point re Ollie. A lot here at TC need to know WTF our running machines are doing all 15 kms. They must be doing something. After all no team has kicked more than 75 points against us in the last 5 games.

In Vossy we trust.

I fully expect Cotts to be sub but even then his selection confuses me, especially since he has missed so much footy.
