Yep. Confirmed. Sad news for Zac. Once again the club treating its members with utter contempt

Club statement says that Philp had surgery at the start of the week, no news until now.

Another gut punch to the supporters and we haven’t even got to the practice matches
It’s not that we can’t replace Williams in isolation, it’s the cumulative effect of all these injuries
We reached the critical mass of injuries about mid last season and we’re on track to get there quicker this year
5 long term injuries have occurred over the pre season and we’ve just started February. Doubt many other clubs are dealing with this
Many said we needed to improve our injury list to improve this year and we’re tracking even worse than this time last year which is astonishing really

Yeah, other clubs injury news is someone pulling up tight and they'll sit a week or two out.

I want to know if Zac's injury was collision based, or not.

If not, I'm prepared to say the surface at PP is no good and needs to be addressed ASA-F-P.

This cannot be coincidence, and also cannot (all) be A. Russell's fault.

They’re still on the Sunny Coast, aren’t they?

Yes. Last training session was in Qld.

Fragile list but the number of foot related stress fractures is bordering on a trend.

It has been for the last 10 years.
I asked a few years back on the conditions of the ground and was informed that it was in great condition.
I still feel it may not be right.
Failing that we need to look for tougher players that require less cotton wool.

Depressing or what? Every year I hope for a good run with injury, never seems to happen. I never wanted Martin or Williams, rightly or wrongly my take on them was they were inconsistent and injury prone. I hoped I was going to be proven wrong. Signed to long term, big money deals and hardly get on the park. I'm worried about our ruck stocks too.

And mullets, don't forget mullets. I wonder if there are any likely lads in Castlemaine gaol.

I saw Pitto at Bunnings Hawthorn the other day. Seemed to be moving freely.

Unfortunately, this is what happens when you recruit and persist with injury prone players

Even without injuries, I think our list is overrated

With long term injuries to key players we have little hope

Limited midfield
Heavily reliant on Curnow and McKay
Early draft picks have generally been disappointing
Players such as McGovern, Marchbank, Williams, Martin and Cunningham are best 22 players but injury prone. Some of those players are on significant contracts.
Current preseason has been an unmitigated disaster on the injury front (again)
A poor injury run has been a constant for the last 20 years
Team is getting older. Cripps is now 27 turning 28.
Rebuild commenced in 2015. Yet to make finals after 8 years.
Haven’t finished in top four for 22 years.
Plowman is still on list and getting games.
