We're not going to play finals. This is potentially a great opportunity for a few kids that they might not otherwise have got.

So for selection:

Out: Kreuzer, McGovern, Simpson, Newman

In: Phillips, Curnow, Williamson, Stocker

Or will we go Setterfield and only one of Williamson/Stocker?

These injuries suck, hopefully the ins are ready to fire.

Out: Simpson, Kreuzer, McGovern, Newman
In: Setterfield, Curnow, Philips and any one of Schumacher/Williamson/Stocker.

Thomas Jones Marchbank
Plowman Weitering youngHBF
Walsh Cripps LOB
SPS Curnow Murphy
Casboult McKay Cuningham
Philips Curnow Dow
Fisher Setterfield Gibbons Silvagni

Philips and Casboult have to wear Goldy like a glove around the ground, can't afford to get cut up by the opposition ruck like we were before Kreuzer came back.
Curnow to tag Cunnington, O'Meara tore us to pieces last week and we got back into the game when Ed finally went on him in he last quarter.
LOB to continue the run with role, this time on Higgins. Thankfully Polec should be out and North don't have too many other damaging mids.

I hope you’re right, but I’m not confident. The injuries are starting to mount up. I was hoping we could get through a month without many injuries (so we can get some stability in the team), and BANG we lose Kreuzer, Simmo, Newman & McGovern in one game....
:banghead:

This week-

In: C Curnow, Phillips, Setterfield, Stocker
Out: Kreuzer (inj), McGovern (inj), Newman (inj), Simmo (inj)

It’s sooner than ideal for Stocker, but IMO he has already gone past Schumacher. Willo & Lang need more VFL time. It’s wing/forward or bust for Garlett, IMO, so I personally wouldn’t consider him as a replacement for Simmo or Newman.

Stocker was close to Northern’s best last week as defender/midfielder; he’ll struggle to run out the game but I would back him in and at least it gives him a taste.

CARLTON’S injury woes are mounting, with Mitch McGovern suffering a hamstring injury. The former Crow was also injured in that loss to the Hawks, now joining Simpson, Newman and Kreuzer on the sidelines. McGovern will miss this week and possibly next. More on @superfooty

This has become beyond a joke.
So much for our new fitness guru, players keep re-injuring themselves , same as last year.

Except that none of them are recurring injuries.

We did have a charmed run there for 5 or 10 minutes.

McGovern hamstring, same as early in the season but he played.
Curnow knee soreness, same again.

We'll always have the 1st quarter.

Unreal how we simply cannot keep guys on the park. This is a real test of our depth, resolve and improvement. Sounds like Charlie will be definitely ready to go this week, but he is out of form.....good game to find some son !

Willo probably not ready, ditto Stocker. But both should be in our top 22 before the half way point of the season.

Let's see if Kennedy has much to add to the team. If he's fit, then good time to find out.

Polson, Garlett ? Yeah na. Murph stays for now, but his star is fading pretty fast.

Out: Kreuz, Gov, Newman, Simmo (all inj)
In: Charlie, Phillips, Setters, Kennedy

Norf have owned us in recent times. They'll be desperate to win and will see us as a huge opportunity to win some respect. Big test for our resolve, depth and improvement.

2 half backs out and none replacing them? I cant see it.
I'd like to see Phillips, Stocker, Willo and Charlie come in.
I like Setterfield but I don't mind if he plays VFL for a week. If he's freshened up and they want him in, bring him in for JSOS or LO'B.

Stocker is the 7th defender providing rotation relief.
Personally I believe the backline is functioning so well, they'll want to bring in a VFL defender who is playing under the same defensive system. If not 2.

If we have a win on Sunday after making 4 first changes, that'll be awesome for the team's morale. I guess that's the one slight positive.

The options for ins are pretty good. We can still beat North

I'd prefer Setterfield and Garlett. Both Stocker and Willo aren't ready for AFL yet, IMO.

100%. Schumacher for newman ... i'd start with walsh in the simmo role and bring stocker off the bench to chop walsh out in the middle with.

i still wish we'd upgraded phillips this offseason gone. we've never been able to rely on kruezer his entire career to stay fit for long.

My changes would be:

Out: Kreuzer, Newman, Simmo, McGovern

In: Phillips, Willo, Setterfield, Stocker

As a backup ruckman Phillips is pretty decent. With De Koning coming through do we need to recruit another? Or is De Koning more of a forward than ruckman?
