We should introduce the Roy Smeck awards here on TC as an ode to the de-generation of Carlton over the last 20 years

@AyrtonWoolley Ayrton Woolley
Carlton skipper Marc Murphy returns to Melbourne in a moonboot. Has been managing plantar fascia, but last night heard a “pop” in foot. Scans to come. @9NewsMelb

Doesn’t the “pop” mean it’s finally let go a-la Robert Harvey jumping off a chair to deliberately rupture his.

If surgery required it will be a lot longer than 4 weeks.

You know what, a mounting injury list does make for an easy excuse for the team’s woes.

But it’s like dulling the pain of a ruptured kidney with excessive alcohol consumption. You’ll numb the pain but actually be making yourself worse.

Bolton: 'Not what we stand for'

CARLTON captain Marc Murphy is set to miss the next four matches after injuring himself in the warm-up against North Melbourne on Saturday night.

Murphy was forced to withdraw from the game, with scans today revealing the full extent of the damage to his left foot.

"Scans have revealed he's done some damage to his plantar fascia, which is the material that runs along the bottom of the foot," McKay said.

"The doctors are saying he'll be out for the next four weeks, which is really unfortunate for us and Marc, but it gives someone else an opportunity to fill that spot."

Doesn’t give a mid fielder an opportunity however, because there aren’t any.

Christ, it doesn’t even hurt anymore...

Do we actually have any medical or conditioning staff at the club?

I wonder if Williamson will play this year.

I went through the injury report video for every week and this was the prognosis from Mr McKay:

Prior to round 1 – 1 week
Prior to round 2 – 3-4 weeks
Prior to round 3 – 3-4 weeks
Prior to round 4 – 3-4 weeks
Prior to round 5 – 3 weeks
Prior to round 6 – 3 weeks

Is it simply the case that he has a stress fracture in his back? Are the club telling the truth?

Before the game on the radio last night, it was mentioned that Richmond's "Big 4" have played close to 100 games together uninterrupted.

I have brought this up previously.
Rance, Cotchin, Martin and Reiwoldt never miss.
Either luck or good management, probably a bit of both.

No new injuries in Round 6 except for CUningham at the lower level, and it doesn't look like he would have been considered any way .... phew..... plus Lang returned in the 2s.

So potentially Kreuzer available.
