This is a game that I hope we look back on as a group in years to come. A real team effort... Everyone would have had nothing in the tank. I want a few 18 and 19 year Olds to eye ball each other in years ahead and know that they were able to beat that bunch of pricks in the toughest conditions with discipline and working for each other.

We'll lose lots of games this year but I really don't think it will be based on effort if today was anything to go by.

If today was anything to go by, I reckon our worst days are behind us.

Happy we are on the right track now.

Very good game from Plowman. SPS great skills in the wet. Macreadie, Marchbank solid. SOJ and Weitering lively up forward.

That was a pretty good debut from Williamson.

Good that there are another 4-5 youngsters who will press for selection in coming weeks.

10-11 players who could realistically expect opportunity to play in our next flag. That is already a hell of an improvement on say two years ago.

Going to be a long journey from here but we have got some players.

That was a very good win, and it's great to see the Bummer supporters losing their shit on the Big Footy board.

No doubt that was Murphy's best game, but it was the intensity at the contest all day that was sensational.

Defence is the foundation of every good side, and we seem to have a seriously good foundation being put in place.

Even better are the leaders emerging: the choice for our next captain won't be easy. Cripps, Weitering or Docherty could step into the role right now. Weitering gives me a bit of a Kernahan vibe, so he's my choice.

RoCo's column today is all about clubs improving by playing the kids.

He goes on to use Freo, Sydney and Richmond as his examples.

Saw the headline and thought 'Great, I'll enjoy this article' but not one mention of the club winning with FIVE TEENAGERS.

FFS RoCo a bag of dicks for you too :banghead: :banghead:

He twittered that he had to have his story done before 6pm which is probably true. The Age is hoplelessy outdated by print time. But even at half time, you could see that the Blues youngsters were doing OK. I did reply to his tweet

I actually braved the weather and went to the game yesterday. Was inspirational stuff by the boys.

Don't wish to go into any individual details as it was truly a team effort yesterday, watch the highlights again and everytime we did something good the boys would be all around each other in celebration. They're playing for each other this group. Very exciting too see.

*Side note:-
I know all clubs have their scumbag supporters, yes even ours, but Bomber fans are by far and away the worst IMO. Yesterday I was standing next to about half a dozen of the worst pieces of crap i have ever seen. Saying some truly disgusting stuff. What a joke. Was cheering extra loud when they left.
