Thank you, Blues. Ugly but triumphant.

Kudos again to Murph, who I assume was tagged out of the game in the third by Crowley but came good in the end.

Gibbs sloppy early but kept at it. Huge 2nd half, BOG.

Thomas and Army bring senior smarts and poise in front of goal.

Curnow and Simmo great again.

Wright having a great season but bit brainfady today. Did he know he was clear to run in to goal when he went the annoying spin it along the ground option? Or calling out a teammate (it appeared that way) before spilling the mark? Seemed a few players were a bit flat after last week though.

Kreuzer getting better. Give him a break. He was a gun before he did his knee. He'll never be the same but he has a crack and forced some contests and spillages today. Yes, Phillips took some real strides today (metaphorically).

Weitering... My take, looking at the replay: one scum pushed him further into the turf, Lonergan-like, dislocating his shoulder, the other one accidentally collected his head as he ran in. Great defensive effort. Shame others' sloppiness put him in that position in the first place.

Relief.

Suck a needle, Scumbags.

I liked it in the last quarter when he finally realised he was 6 inches taller than Gwilt and outmarked him.

Pros:

2nd strong effort in a row from our senior players.
Excited by Byrne and Phillips.
Thought Kreuzer was better than he's been.
Thought Graham had a decent game.
Nice to see Armfield back in the team.
Well done to Lamb for breaking our goal drought. Took skill and mental strength.
Jones again made some kind of contribution.
2 wins in a row. We beat Essendon*.

Cons:

Forward line inefficiency.
Weitering's injury.

i haven't watched a ball being kicked since rnd 1. Best case scenario we lose all of these games by 1000 points or more. Would serve club and its lame supporters right...and help it! win/win.

Another excellent performance by Gibbs. It must really hurt the Gibbs haters.

Murph and Simo really stepped up at the right time.

We did a reasonable job of covering the loss of Cripps.

At last Daisy performs.

An incredibly poor game but very very happy to beat the bombers.

I thought Jones chasing and harassment was first class, infinite improvement on last year.

First reaction would have been to go with the man with the ball, but he was aware enough to stick with his man that was running to the danger area. Not many have that kind of awareness- he assessed the play at a regional scale, not just where the ball was. Would really like to see him in the middle.

to think we lost the unloseable game against the tigers ... and we'd be 3 and 3 and with 3 winnable games coming up, it'd do wonders for confidence & belief. our stellar defence & structure allows us to win ugly, which if the cup is half full, is something we haven't done since 1999.

good teams will beat us, but we're slowly learning to put bodies on the line for the greater team good. speaking of; any word on when we'll know more about weiter's shoulder?

Gwilt could have been paid a free for being shepherded out.
Lucky Razor Ray was very supportive of Carlton yesterday: thanks Ray.
There was a Carlton player between Kreuzer and Gwilt.
Therefore, Kreuzer took a mark against a Carlton player.
He didn't outmark any opponent as far as I'm concerned.
He is so clumsy.

We have to persevere with Kreuzer. I understand that.
We don't have much of a choice if we need to play with 2 rucks.
He's a fighter, but he's not first class in the ruck.

Philips, Wood and Korcheck are our ruck stocks.
No wonder we persist with Kreuzer. In some sense we need him.
I'm a fan of 2 rucks...if they add value, and we have no alternative for the 2nd ruck.
I think Rowe and Casboult can play 2nd ruck, and Casboult further up the ground would be better value imo.

I'd rather have Kreuzer than Ackland, Hampson, Warnock and the likes.
At this stage I have Philips ahead of Kreuzer...so is Kreuzer worth the 2nd ruck position?
I keep hearing he doesn't play 2nd ruck well nor is he a forward.
His days sadly are limited. We will find a replacement in the next 2 dtaft/trade seasons.

One of these weeks, hopefully next week, his attempts to smother will come off.
He's getting better and improving. He's not top shelf though.
I cant see him being in our next premiership team, but he deserves to keep his spot...just...coz its not the end of the world.
