Not sure about you guys but personally i have never been tied to the idea of Carlton being forever.
Perhaps we are at our end point. Can't say it has been a complete failure. We have the most flags in the league. Noone can take that away.

We are going out on top.

Our finances.....

Beyond attendances being down, how are we bleeding cash?

You make it sound like we've ramped up expenditure despite not having an overseas trip to Denver or wherever for pre-season?

You mean three hundred thousands plus that we lost today?

You're saying we have a break even crowd figure of well over 20,000 at a stadium of 55,000 capacity? That's not tenable... why would we sign such an agreement?

Jimmae - we didn't - funny boy made it up.

So much time So little to do.

Not sure we're dead just yet but the landscape will change soon. Melbourne, the city, is on its knees in the AFL.

I mentioned that a couple of weeks back and suggested getting on the front foot and explore the idea of teaming up with another clubs to make sure we are one of the big clubs going forward.

It is fair say my suggestion didn't go down to well.

I think there's a lot of opportunities to explore before we should consider a merger. Even then, there's plenty of Victorian clubs who should go the drop before us, despite our current on-field efforts and board issues.

Equalization fund

We can receive $2mil and report an end of season profit

This could go on for years... Sorry!

Was thinking of it being more a proactive move that propels us into the next hundred years. Get in before it starts to happen with melbourne clubs anyway and shit clubs get absorbed by already strong Melbourne clubs. It will happen sooner than we all think.

It's easy to joke about the position we are in (gallows humour) but, another couple of years of this and we may well be in a similar position to Fitzroy in their dying days. Eventually Tasmania will have an AFL side, the AFL may well decide it's time to fold up the Princes Park enterprise, low supporter base (and sinking further), shrinking membership, no money, in debt, no prospects. Tassie Blues anyone?

Pretty sure I heard him say that he couldn't see us losing a game in NZ this year

I think if we ran the rule through the club with the precision SOS is going to be using on the list, and the draft/free agency pool as well as other team's list, we'd probably be able to squirrel enough money away for a bid to start developing Princes Park back into an AFL venue by 2025.

Boutique venue in inner Melbourne once more. Some old ideas are better than others. ;)

This was the second game i have been to this year.. what a waste of time.

GWS looked like a football TEAM. They ran hard, spread and linked up beautifully from the start. They were good to watch.

There was no Blue TEAM out there that i could see... just a bunch of flat footed witches hats. Carlton are rubbish, clearly the players don't care.

We wont have another win until Round 13.

I'm worried about the guys with the matches who have already burned their membership cards...

WE'RE CARLTON, FLOWERED BY THE REST

This game could have been played at Princes Park. A lot of people would have enjoyed that, and perhaps the team might have found a spark.

Remember the worry in 2012 was that if we dont get Malthouse we would lose 10k members.

And wasn't that GWS's first season with us beating them in the first game by 20 goals?
