NicNat will be more of a problem on the spread and drifting forward; I'm not worried about him in the ruck beyond the centre bounce.

Hopefully Mick's similar worries don't lead to him playing White at the stoppages; give Cripps the job.

Based on what I saw today, we have a very little chance of beating them on their home Ground.. they will Spank us hard in the middle.....

You can just see it coming... One of those games where we will most likely end up kicking 5-6 goals for the Entire game and end up losing by 50+.....

Moving forward, we then play the Bombers and again, based on today's performance, we have no chance to beat them....

That's 0-3 and Season Over before it began. I would be thrilled if we can get the Wooden Spoon and start all Over again!!

Always are reason why round 2 is the toughest to tip. Thinking we will play better. Few on here talking up the Eagles effort tonight as a reason why they'll thump us. Well the Eagles lost to a much inferior side to Richmond even if it was over here. Logic there is a little astounding.

Eagles have midfield problems to rival ours, the advantage they have over us is Nic Nat who was fantastic tonight, and the bloke we traded to them as part of the Judd deal.

I wouldn't tip us to win, but I wouldn't discount us completely, as I think their in for a long year too.

Side needed more run and needs more weapons up forward. Henderson had no killer instinct all @#$%&! night and it hurt us so much. Throw Walker and Everitt up there in turns and linking to half back in turns. Bell was still threatening even when he decided he couldn't hold onto the ball for more than a 1/10th of a second before disposing.

Buckley will add the run that White couldn't; Boekhorst will be more of an impact sub than Smith was. Watson can do more for our score sheet and forward structure in 5 touches than Henderson can do in 15 at the moment.

MM highlighted White's game. He'll be first picked.
Is Walker even available?
Or Yarran?

Play Rowe fwd. And if our game plan is to bomb it then Casboult needs to play. Let Jones play as a third tall like Mick & Wiley said all preseason.

Did you? Do you also see Hendo chasing Smiths man downfield several times while Smith trailed 20 metres behind?
Or wasn't that in the TV screen? Its not a criticism of Smith, he's just not fit enough.
Liam Jones needs to understand his responsibilities don't only apply when the ball is within 5 metres.

Our problem is forward pressure. We can't win enough one on one contests up forward which enables our opposition to zone off. Too often players like Houli and Batchelor were running offensively before the Tiges had even won the ball. 31 uncontested possessions between 2 defenders!
People on this site talk about cheating players. Richmond cheat infinitely more than our players. We're just good enough to punish them for it.
The outcome is Houli, Batchelor, Hunt and co run the ball up the ground with no pressure and hit up their forwards with ease.
Yet you and others are advocating we send into defence the only forward we played who could win a one on one or chased to apply pressure. :?

This. It was in their plan. As soon as they created a spill and looked like getting it, they opposite flanker charged down the wing and got the switch. Freo did it to us for years. We haven't learned anything.

maybe they think he will improve his goal kicking by playing ruck...

we have no forward structure atm - so lets throw random backline players (rowe/jacksch) and ruck men to pinch hit rather than try to develop someone who actually looks to be one of the very few players on our list that seems suitedto play as a permanent forward (henderson is easily a better player down back)

Maybe they think he will improve his tank by playing ruck. he can practise goalkicking any time.

I'm sure will pick a better balanced team and take it up to WCE next week.

As for those with the squirts about us playing them at Subi, just a reminder that we always play well there and the players really enjoy playing there too. We pushed Freo to the brink there last year, FFS.

I always try to find an excuse to get over to Perth to watch us play, such a good Blues vibe at that ground.

In. . . Casboult, Tutt, Armfield.

Out . . Thomas, Jaksch, ( inj. ), Smith, although he wasn't our worst by a longway.

Touhy has to be walking on hot coals too after last week.

Yarran's knee is a worry too, given the size of the Subiaco ground.

If we can get better games out of Gibbs, Murphy, Henderson, Simpson and Jamison we will look a lot better than we did against the clinical Tiger. Judd and Yaz need to continue their good form. Get one of our rucks firing and hope big Kruezer can get fit and become a imposing target in the forward line.

Perhaps they all will grow into the season and others will surprise us and grow with them.

Fingers crossed.

I think Warnock confuses Nic Nat, and with Cox out of the equation I don't think they'll win it in the ruck.

Midfield battle between our Tiggers, their runners with a man behind play and our inside players Murphy, gibbs with a suspect shoulder and Judd.

Let's play 1 tagged, if any and lets play midfield vs midfield.

Yes and Yes.

Someone has to give Nic Nat and Kennedy cookies to the arse or thigh because they are the difference Imo. They always give opponents headaches.

If we can win that midfield ball by having the Extractor play head on against theirs in Priddis then Nic Nat can spread and run forward all he likes because they haven't got the ball.

Also Cripps could run with NicNat fairly well. ;)

The Eagles looked fast ... energetic and strong. Their game plan involves rapid movement of the ball down the centre corridor. The Bullies were fantastic and were the better side on the day in Melbourne.

I hope we cut the Eagles apart with our slow boundary line and bomb game plan ... just not feeling too hopeful. Our forwards will need to have a red letter day. Maybe Levi can pluck a few bombs that land in the general vicinity.

Viva the Madhouse!

You'd only say that about White if you read the papers and didn't listen to the presser. He spoke about the role and admitted it failed after the first 15 mins.

Yarran should play after an 8 day break. Walker is a chance to come up.

Well its nice to be appreciated ... I get slammed so much.

I desperately hope we can beat the Coasters ... its been a terrible weekend so far (except for the way the Bombers lost).
