Nah mate; it's Supercoach scores.

Interestingly, where do you think Warnock delivers this higher-scoring advantage?

Is it at the stoppages where he was sixth in league for average hitouts, but only 25% of hitouts go to advantage (somewhere below every other starting ruck in the league and then some)?

Is it up forward where he averages well less than a contested mark per game, and in fact averages less than one mark per game?

Is it around the ground, where averages less than 9 disposals per game?

Warnock being useful has been a myth since about 2011, which is the last he was useful. He is as inconsistent as they come and he needs to show something new at VFL before he should get a foot in the door. Bring Hampson back please.

..yup have been saying it for a while too, knockers' taps are quantity over quality, with the way he taps them down to his feet he also adds extra congestion with repeat stoppages, inflating his number of taps with secondary ball ups within a few meters of the original stoppage..

..our 'tap specialist' isn't all that special..

I'm sorry but if Casboult plays on form, all of these trades and structural alterations are for nothing because we're still hamstrung by our 2nd ruck situation.

I know you are a Warnock fan and I'm not but you couldn't possibly play Warnock ever again. He gives us nothing at all away from the odd stoppage.
Casbuolt is not as good as a tap ruckman but is better in every other aspect of the game by a mile. Kicking I'm not sure about. Last time I saw Warnock kick at goal he cost us a final from seven metres out.

I am not a Warnock fan at all; not sure where you got that from. Our current ruck stocks are @#$%&! awful beyond Kreuzer depsite the immense talent between the three of them. We should be using Rowe as a second ruck and rotating Henderson into defence as needed.

Had all 3 of them lived up to their potential, one wouldn't be at the club and we'd play 2 of them in the side. As it is we'll probably keep Wood around for another year or two and recruit a young ruck and a 21-23 year old ruck next year.

Sorry.
I have subsequently read some of your stuff re: Warnock and must have confused you in my mind with someone else.
I don't think Rowe is the option.
IMO Wood and Casboult as Bondi outlined it above is the best option.
Wood is no Cox but he is honest and has a crack. Even takes marks and kicks goals. Marick will have an impact. We have to concede that. We've had shite ruck stocks for years. Time to do something about it. I thought Hampson was going to come on...
Casboult is the same but camped in the square provides us with a great marking option and a hedache for opposition coaches.

Casboult isn't smart enough in his patterns to have a 1v1 in the square often enough, and isn't skilful enough to be able to work his opponent off at any opportunity and score from wide angles.

Needs to improve in both, and sooner rather than later.

..Jones is 197cm isn't he?, and some good spring.. ..Wood is a workhorse type ruck, he will be better with most time in the ruck, so I think I'd try Jones as the relief ruck.. ..some time on the ball will also instil him in a constant work ethic.. ..Bolt's kicking is to too much of a liability and momentum sapper..

we'll win.

I know, my in depth analysis is astounding.
just a feeling, and the odds are ever in our favor too.

Oh boy..

Look I hate to be negative but I don't wear rose coloured glasses. I don't think we will win. I think we are a bottom four team but are re building a better list.

There might be some pretty upset people on here Friday morning. :(

Please let me be wrong!

Well'll smash'm by over 30 points. Juddy, Carrozzo, Simpson, and Yarren will shine.
I'm expecting good games from, Gibbs , Murphy , Thomas and Everitt too.
It's Jones time to have a real go and Hendo to come good hopefully.
I think Warnock will surprise and back line should be fine.
I'd go with Smith as an exciting Sub.
Go Baggers, Ciao

The strapping that Bryce Gibbs was wearing on his shoulder at training today wasn't the strapping "for a stinger".

CARLTON star Bryce Gibbs appears on track for Thursday night's season-opening blockbuster against Richmond, and coach Mick Malthouse could unleash a pair of draftees on the big stage at the MCG, onballer Andrew Carrazzo says.

"It's certainly going to be a challenge for us and it's a huge stage – the whole country's going to be watching us," Carrazzo said. The whole Country!!

Maric is big and strong but don't think he's tall or a jumper. With that in mind, Wood's relative lack of height is not a disadvantage and he is a more like for like matchup. Other teams the matchup may work differently.

Hope Yarran (and the rest of the team) is prepared to tackle, and tackle strongly.

Wood is 204cm and Maric is 200cm....

Wood is a better option than Warnock every day.
