I don't get the fuss about the fixture - anytime, anywhere should be our motto

The AFL sent out an email to announce the release of the fixture...the name of the story? "The Fixture Fix"
At least they were honest

I agree.

But only in the finals.

Good fixture...thank God the stupid game times have been dropped.
We can't complain...let's have a good start at least.

 you rarely hear the top teams complaining about fixtures and interstate travel etc.

They have their eyes on winning flags - I remember when we were like that

Agree that we should beat anyone anywhere if we're any good. But still...

Not happy about the two Hawks games so close together - more because I don't like playing any team twice in such a short space of time - but it gives us two cracks at breaking the hoodoo. We'll only get one chance to break Geelong this time around but it will be done!

I'm not unhappy about the NZ trip - we need something to get excited about against a snorable St Kilda. I would be pretty unhappy if it was our home game though. Saints fans have a right to be peeved if this is an annual event - I haven't looked to see whether they've been offered another home game somewhere.

And Essenscum once! Is that the first time ever? Is it because Blues fans are the most likely to boycott a yet-to-be-infracted-team event? Let the conspiracy theories begin. I thought this was a certain twice-a-year cashcow. Is someone in the AFL scratching their heads and wondering how they overlooked this one while they were ticking all the other boxes?

The fact that we play essenscum once is no suprise. The afl must know what is coming after pissing asada off for the last 2 years.

Collingwood's draw is pretty good...PLAY TWICE: Geelong, Essendon*, Richmond, Carlton, Melbourne.

So too West Coast - PLAY TWICE: Western Bulldogs, Adelaide Crows, Gold Coast, St Kilda, Fremantle.

I would expect West Coast to make the finals or at least get close with that draw.

The thing that really stands to for me looking at the whole fixture is that if you turn on the Football on a Friday night you have a 77% chance of watching Carlton, Collingwood or Richmond (or two of them) playing.

17 out of the 22 scheduled rounds have at least one of those teams playing on the Friday. Richmond have seven Friday nights and Carlton and Collingwood six each.

West coasts draw this year was even easier and they didn't make finals. And they haven't exactly done anything to improve their list.

Hawthorn have been judged to have the hardest draw for the 3rd year in a row - I doubt they care.

I hate this mindset some people have about bleating about our draw, maybe because I remember when we were good I am not worried about it and think if we are good enough we will do well, if we are not, we wont.

I think some people are so success starved its giving our supporter base a victim complex.

I'd say they'll be upset when we smash them twice in 7 weeks.

Why the mention of a draw....a draw is something which is done randomly.
