We'll get the 4 points, but will we truly be winning?

Just win so we are guaranteed not to get the spoon. We can lose every game after that.

They have beaten us pretty regularly for years.
Not confident.
Don't care.
I'd be happy with the spoon if it would guarantee a decent player. Not like the last one where we picked up a complete dud instead of his little mate who is a great player.

..guessing you meant '07, we didn't win the spoon that year, last spoon we won was '06 when we picked up Gibbs..

....cotchin is a good player, but has only had the single very good year.... ..otherwise he's under performing if you believe the hype.. ..or he is over rated.. .... ..either way the tugger ferals have been talking down his captaincy even more than 'we' have Murphy's.. ..personally I don't mind catching, good kid and decent player.... ..but not elite like so many claim he is.... ..average/one paced, average kicking skills, easily tagged out of a game..

Oh ok. Didn't hear anyone say that before his unlucky run of injuries.

..didn't hear anyone mentioning it last season either, when he recovered from the broken thumb and was carrying the ruck on his own and being a match winner.. ....a while ago a bad foot injury could ruin a career, these days it's not so definite.... ..if he can recovër fully from the foot injury and he plays as the prime ruck he will be a very good player.. ..hopefully it is for us..

We've lost twice to the bottom side this year.

And they say, everything comes in Three's.

Got nothing to do how bad we are or how MM will coach this week. It'll have nothing to do with the Saints beating us 16 out of the last 20 times.

It's all about superstition !

Beaten them pretty comfortably the last two times, including earlier this year when they weren't going that badly.

What's disappointing is I don't care if we lose. I see no benefit in winning.

Better draft picks and hopefully more evidence that things need to change.

How disappointing it is to be back in this position. When will we learn?

That last part is what scares me the most.

It didn't work last time, and I can't see any indicators that the club had learnt from history and will make this tank the tank to end all tanks.

May well be but I have trouble seeing how we can recruit too much. We have nothing to trade and if we want more picks they will b e late in the draft anyway.

Can't see anything but a long haul to try and rebuild our list. If we go down the FA path or trying to poach other players I can only see more issues.

I'm not convinced MM is trying all that hard to win ATM or at least he's not to worried if we lose.

Which makes the Thomas recruitment all the more baffling. Had the opportunity to get an extra pick to recruit someone who may be with the club for 10 years. Instead an inconsistent flanker who has played his best football. All the picks count in the end. Might as well turn the lights off and hand back the keys if the club think they couldn't have drafted well with the pick.

..we have to embrace the draft.. ..and the first time you do it, you take the pain.. ..but we have avoided it, and so have never had much stock on the list that we can use to work ourselves back into the draft.. ..not with any early picks.. ..doing this properly will take time, and it's time well spent.. ..it takes even longer rushing it, stuffing it up, and having to go again..
