Hey, where you been Synners.

Even the opposition coach rated him.

How about the guy who cost us Eddie Betts , Thomas.

No forward pressure, ONE tackle, missed two sitters and gave away two goals.

Absolute shit bro.

But it's ok, he's got the inside running.

Probably why Jeffy has spat it and playing shizen. MM will play guys on merit, unless it's the son he never had!!

FMD, Thomas didn't cost us Eddie Betts, giving stupid 3 year contracts to Waite and Carrazzo, cost us Eddie Betts.

Roll all you like Agro.

We don't have $450k to keep for Eddie, but we have $700k for Daisy McClubfoot.

Easy maths.

whats easy maths is hes played more games than carrazzo juddy and waite put together... and theyre on 2 million between them

anyway... people laughed at me when i said letting eddie go and not toecutting the overpaid players into a salary cut was a mistake...

were u one of those ??

i think you were... hmmmmm.. pretty sure you were...

don't give two hoots about Eddie as a forward pocket player was never going to take us to the promised land

however, I do care about that extra draft pick which would have been handy with our current predicament

our disasters with both McLean and Warnock should have been enough for us to make the right decision

Watched the last qtr of the Showdown and saw Eddie ripping up Adelaide Oval.
It just killed me seeing him do that, when our Forward line is such a mess.
Biggest mistake in recent memory letting him go.

We really missed a crumbing forward tonight, Menzel had a bad night.
It kills me to see Eddie playing well, then to top it off Jacobs wins the medal for BOG. :banghead:
Decided at the last minute not to go to the game, turned out pretty much as expected.
We are not that good, either are Collingwood.
Looks like a good draft pick coming up this year, hope we dont stuff it up.

Pretty sure I said I was happy for MM to make the decisions on who goes and who stays. Pretty sure I reckon Mick wanted him gone because he wouldn't role through the mifield. That's what coaches do...remember???

He made his choice............Eddie OUT, Son Of Mick IN.

What pick would we have landed for Eddie? Got any idea?

Supposing for a moment we got another pick around 12...to 20... how do you believe that another Lucas Watson Bootsma Cripps Grigg Hampson Bower Russell was going to be more valuable?

The big (and stupid) call was giving three year deals to Waite and Carrazzo, which prevented us from being able to improve our list.

Instead of being a pig headed arse and blaming Mick, why don't you cast your blame at our "List Management Committee".

There's a pattern developing here.

We play a good team and suffer an honourable loss.

We play a bad team and suffer a dis-honourable loss.

Pies came out firing on all cylinders early but we found a way to make a game of it at least. Its a hard loss especially against Collingwood but we were right in it for a while there. We've had a rotten year and its looking pretty hopeless at the minute. 2014 is cooked and I dare say some hard choices will be made by seasons end. All in all not a thumping at the hands of the old foe, I thought at least we do give it our all, its just we're in the horrors as far as skills and decision making is concerned. Do we just go for rock bottom now and secure something decent at the draft table? Strangely now that the season is well and truly over I'll wager we'll see some improvement in the boys.

With no danger of winning any time in the next 3-5 years.

It's all about the process though...process of losing.....we've been there and done that all too recently.

We are [REDACTED]. For a good while it would seem too.

Still, reckon he's the least of our worries.
At least he has a crack!!

Someone on BigFooty last week put it very well I reckon when they said that if X is our opponent's ability, we always seem to play to an X-1 level.

If you think betts is better than thomas. Thats your perogative. I dont. If its a mistake. It cost us 200k
but dont forget to mention everett or docherty tonight or reincarnation of rowe
and just to jog your memory who gave up pick 11 for 60 games in 5 seasons mclean, or let jacobs go?

Week after week.

Simple misses. You don't mind if they moss from the boundary of from fifty but we miss regularly from 0-30.

Murphy would have to be one of the most unreliable kicks for goal from 30 metres almost in front in the entire comp.
I blasted him for missing two from 15-20 out against the WCE in the second semi and got pilloried for it but he does it time and again.

And for those who are blaming Curnow, he lobbed that kick to the corridor and it cost us dearly but at the same time when you are 9 down with a minute to play there is no point playing safe. nd he broke his leg six weeks ago. he can play his role but it isn't to be the skilled playmaker across half back.

We should havewon this. First quarter and shit kicking cost us.

However, we are heading for a top five draft pick in a draft full of tall players.

You do realise Collingwood kicked for goal worse than us. They improve their kicking by 5% and that's a 6-7 goal loss. Collingwood kept us in it and tried to hand it to us but we crapped ourselves. See Murph's miss and Hendo's.

You mean the midfield that Mick inherited at the end of 2012 which was ranked 3rd in the league? that midfield? Kicking it to the second best forwards in the league?

At the start of the 2013 season Hawthorns midfield was ranked 9th in the league - the main reason they lost the 2012 GF to the Swans. Do you recall that GF Mr S?? Where the Swans midfield kicked 7 or 8 goals whilst the Hawks midfield didnt kick any?

The Hawks knew that problem needed fixing so they recruited the best midfield and stoppages coach in the Australia - THE GREAT BRETT RATTEN - took him 1 pre season and 22 games to set them up for a finals campaign where they BEAT their nemesis team Geellong and also the Swans and then Freo in the Final. Put the last jigsaw in the puzzle in Lake who took the monster forwards and he ended up with two medals in September

CHAMPION DATA 2012

CARLTON
Defenders 14th
Midfield/Rucks 3rd
Forwards 2nd
LIST QUALITY 9th

I wonder if Mr S believes that Primus and the gang and a washed up Williams, left Hinkley with a good midfield and list quality at the end of 2012???

PORT ADELAIDE
Defenders 18th
Midfield/Rucks 12th
Forwards 17th
LIST QUALITY 17th

7.10 to 9.8 after quarter time (17 scoring shots each). First quarter killed us. Collingwood kick straight in the first and it's game over then and there.
