i don't know where to start....never before in my life.....have i
experienced such warmth and love....never before in my life
have i felt such strength being sent to me......it's trully
overwhelming.....!

thank you....thank you all so %$#@ING much.......!

i can't lie to yas....it's been a toughish few months....
culminating in quite a big seven days...i got home yesterday
arvo....!

i went in last sunday arvo for some pre op business...
and to be ready for my early morning trolley ride to the theater....
(i'm not sure what the ticket price was.....but i can't even remember
seeing a movie).......!

"you'll be staying in the Medi Motel tonight" i was told......
oooh that sounds nice i thought....had a gig last night so i
can do with the wind down......!

much to my disappointment though.....not a bar fridge or Kookas
bis-queet in sight....even the TV didn't work......!

(they were having trouble with the digital analogue changeover....
apparently 17 years four months notice isn't enough time to prepare
for the occasion....i told them not to feel too bad about it...the
advertising had been very minimal....)

after a sleepless night.....i was ready to go by 5:30 in the am....
only to be told at 6:30.....we're not too sure about your MRI.....
there's a charnce you may need to go off for one before your
procedure.....!

well that's.............just........................GREAT i thought.....
i'm sure i've mentioned my disdain towards being buried alive before.....!

infact i despise the MRI....more than a certain CEO....from
a certain football code....but hey...not now ...!

after being wheeled through what seemed to be....gee i don't know.....
a better lit Hogans Heroes tunnel.....we arrive at the concrete bunker...!

one Temazepam.....and 27.43 minutes in the reactor....we're
straight to theater......!

i remember being transferred from one bed to the next.....
on a slide board...and then i was awake 4 hours later......
oxygen mask......and an 8'' tampon in each nostril.......
mmmmm.......comfortable......!

i asked the nurse the night before.......if at all possible....
a window seat would be great please....even the illusion
of a fresh breeze can help with my........"GET ME THE
%$#@ OUT OF THIS NON BREATHING.....FILTHY AIR
CIRCULATING HELL HOLE NOWWWWW" feeling i get on the 10th
floor of St Vinnies.......!

i did get one.....and it was a lovely way to spend the week.....!

not remembering what meal i'd ordered for the day......became
a nice surprise.....although by the last day....i started to
think maybe mash DOESN'T go with everything......!

the food was POX.....but we all know that.....thank god for those
little peel back....110ml apple juices......i started to build a little
cache for myself.....i mean who knows what could happen....
we could've been invaded last week....and if so.....those little
%$#@ERS carry the most currency in hospitals.....well them and
that awkwardly shaped wee bottle......!

(which i gotta say.....is there a rule anywhere saying i can't
have one at home....?)




(yeah that's what i thought..)


the staff were fantastic......even Dylan the young trainee nurse....
(who i must say.....made Cam from Modern family look almost straight).....!

Dylan was a rippa......he was doing his 4 week placement.....
and into his second week......!

the first time he took my obs.......he found my blood pressure to
be 172 over 124.....i gave him the "look".......the first of many
i would give him throughout the week........god bless his little gay backside.....!



(so to speak)


obviously he 'd made a leeeetle mistake.......but never the less.....
i only mentioned Floristry as an alternative a few times......trying
to tell him how i was involved in the industry once......only
got me in deeper water usually........!

when he couldn't draw blood from my arm.....i knew we were in
trouble.....i mean.....smackheads spot my veins from across
the street.....and that's when they're on the NOD.......!

the highlight of the week.....is always the removal of said Tampons.....
seriously.......sure my nose is of the larger variety......(as is most
of........"HEY....stop that"....).......lets call it a big nose....but
by jingo.....where does all that stuff come from.....!

the beautiful Dr arrived much to my delight weds lunchtime.....
which coincided with a visit from my fun loving "party" cousin.....!

as she was slowly sliding the cables down each nostril.....
i could see my cousin writhing in his seat....."what are YOU
carrying on about" i said......then turned to the Doc and said....
"you wouldn't want to do this to him.....you'd probably pull
out a rolled up 50 dollar note"........she laughed....he laughed....
i breathed a sigh of relief through clear nostrils......
it was a wonderful occasion....enjoyed by all......!

look....i'm not going to go on.....well not anymore than i
already have.....and i mean this more than anything i've written....
thank you all......thank you with all my heart.......!

sure.....we have a few things to do still.....as anyone on this sight
who has experienced illness....(and i know there are a few of you).....
you're never out of the woods 100%......i still have some "zapping"
to be done around the cranial region...(residual filth apparently)...and
my Thyroid is having some "bits" cut out of it....but we're very positive
that the bulk of the work is done.........kinda.....!

thank you all once again.......you give me strength.....so much so...
that whomever on here is battling their own wars......i share
the strength with you.....there's enough for everybody.......!

Btw, I ran into Freddy47 today at the Breast Cancer Run (both our wives did the 5k run).

He's also been in the wars with a number of serious ops just as his wife had recovered from BC.

He seems to be in good health now but did it hard for a while.

Had his Blues cap on and had good things to say about all at TC (which is more than I can say for the administration of a certain footy club).

Anyway a big GWS to everyone who's had any bouts of ill-health around here. Love yas all.
