That was actually us BS.

Was amazing. Even the daughter was pumped.

That first 2 and a half quarters was a train wreck, but we'll worry about that in the morning.....

Tonight we party.

Kruez?? What exactly did he do? Happy he I back in but he was miles out if touch.

..3 touches, struggled as 2nd ruck,, but 8 tackles and work rate very high, strong mark and then kicked the clutch goal to pick team up off the canvas and break the team yips..

Pretty @#$%&! simple.

His stubbornness cost us the game against STK, almost lost it tonight.

A shame he can't put his ego to one side and play a team and style that suits the players from the start.

This is a run and carry team....it doesn't have Tippett Carey or Cloke.

Your theory is flawed, run for starters, in the the first 2qtrs they would not know what the meaning of the word run was, (lazy not working off the ball expecting someone else to do it ,reactive)then we go to carry, what the hell is that ,explain it to us because I doubt the players would understand that either
You need to show some intent in getting the ball by attacking it and showing some desire not waiting for someone else to make that decision.
Running is expected, desire is expected, lazy pre madonnas should not be tolerated,a and I have no doubt players will not be gifted 2 year contacts in the future because they kiss the coaches arse, and pump up his ego.!!proffessional Coaches and supporters expect 4 quarters of effort, give 100% effort, you have bad days or you are not as talentd as some but if you are lazy we as supporters and coaches see thru this. And if you do not like it fuckoff.

They moved like treacle with that extra tall. Instructed to bomb to try to take advantage of the extra tall. As club29 points out a lot the run wins over height. Then he threw Yarran to wing/HB.

Be interesting to see the play on percentage from first to second half.

Effes, can I ask you a question. What as a coach are your non negotiables?

Played very ordinary for 2 and a half qtrs. port spent their petrol tickets early and we ran over them in 1 and a half qtrs. we spoilt their historic match!!!!!
And those jumper clashes!!!! How can they get that wrong?????
we have a free hit next week.

Effort. Following instructions. (sure there are many others) In the first half they were following instructions with the bombing style. Played right into Port's hands with all their loose men across half back. Told them after taking the tall off and Yarran to wing/HB that they should take risks....play on more from the mark. It's interesting when yarran gets the ball at HB/wing his pace makes everyone else seem more energetic.

And an other question, obviously you are allowed into the coaches box and you were informed by mm that he instructed them to bomb it long. Did you challenge him and request he change his game plan?

Man what a game! I was furious at half time. Ready to thump someone or something.... sitting next to gloating port supporting mates made it worse lol

But gee how sweet it was in the end! I don't reckon I have gone off at a game as much as this ever before. Had some great Blues fans around where we were too.

Was hard to tell exactly who or what the difference was that made us turn the game around, but in the last quarter Gibbs seemed to break the lines a few times taking us forward and it worked really well. When he was sitting in the back line as a spare defender he was just useless.

Our kicking made me sick.... and to make it worse, it seemed like even when Port shanked a kick it went to a teammate! lol Ah well, that last few minutes was crazy, and when the siren went, it was just brilliant :D

We are 2nd or 3rd for long kicks for the season (after being 16th last year) so clearly it has been a focus from the coach.

I'm sure G Brown or someone told him to put it in the shredder when Casboult was taken off and yarran moved up the field.

Non negotiables
Players doing all the one percenters including running both ways and defending....

Problem is this team doesn't do that. Helped juddy was out.

There needs to be a balance.

MM I'm sure doesn't tell Robbo to kick it long without looking every time he gets in defensive 50?

Hey Trigger, you were smart to delete your post.
If you dont want a sensible answer, dont ask for one.
You were stuffed when Effes didnt engage you in your nonsense and came back with an intelligent answer.

You're out of your depth.

Long time reader, first time poster.

No foxtel so had to follow the game on the radio, whilst trying to do controlled crying on our 6 month old. I was close to tears listening to that first half and a bit. I almost woke her at the end with my animated fist pumping.

Now kids all asleep, wife out for dinner with friends and time for a nice single malt to enjoy the win.

I think there was a Q asked at the end of the presser re: Casboult being injured or not (or team injuries)? We wouldn't have got injured in the 1st half, that's for sure was the reply...
Some very poor contributors. Kreuzer would not be happy with his return. Warnock was pretty good. Murphy needed to demonstrate leadership.

We might win the next week running but we will never break into the top four with that style. That style is ok for bottom teams in the eight......

Depends what we're aiming at doing.

Exactly... not sure we as supporters know what we want.

Are we happy to just play finals and make up the numbers or do we want to be a contender?

I remember similar thoughts back in 2003...."we have to play finals style"

It was nice to see him abandon his style and take the tall off...

Maybe we can reach the lofty heights of... 3 points away from a prelim
