Is it just me or does anyone else see a line like "Lucas hamstring 1 week" and automatically
not expect to see him again until Spring?

Sh*t. I'm not happy about this. He was going well.

Mind you, it could be anything. Injury reports are issued by The Ministry of Truth.

Especially with his history, is it too much to expect our physicians and medicos to go the full conservative approach for a change?

Could also be a polite word for "rested"...

McKay said he did it in the third quarter, and played out the game.
Could be code for a rest.

I thought the same after reading Big Kevs post.

Maybe the training regime has been really tough, tougher than we think.
We have run out games well.

Then I just had a look at when players can take rests after the bye in 3 weeks and Round 15 (StK), 17 (GCS) and 19 (WB), and maybe 22 if Port run out of steam.

If we happen to pinch a spot in the 4 and we've managed players to get there we could give the finals campaign a good shot at pinching the flag with a bit of luck. I know I'm dreaming...but I like the thought.

Track record - we can't afford to rest vs STK. Gold Coast, see last year + their performances are on the improve. WBD...we just beat them last year too, although with a depleted team (may prove your point on he the game for any resting)

I like the thought, it's the glass is a quarter full not three quarters empty approach.

In all seriousness we all said we would get better as the season went on, freo had some terribly unimpressed performances early lady year, including a near loss to GC. Lets hope we will string some wins together, but we need to keep our best on the park.

We would of happily taken 5-4 when 0-3. If we could go into the break 7-5 we should be quite happy.

..GWS are an inside, contested team for the most part.. ..their outside runners aren't yet as polished, we can smash them on the outside.. ..some good inside grunt, and then our skilled runners to burn them off.. ..i'd play Krooz in the ruck for most of the game to crash and bash in the stoppages after taps, and play Levi as deep fwd and 2nd ruck.. ..Waite to run all day as he likes.. ..open F50 with our pace to burn.. ..Yarran back in if he's good, Garlett and i'd bring in Menzel to have him run all game [or be subbed out late if tiring]..

Can anyone tell me whether Dale was elevated off the rookie list at some point?

Seems a good like for like replacement for Lucas. Buckley would benefit from the game time, but I don't know whether it answers any other questions looking forward.

I suspect it'll be Joseph that may get the call up.

No promotion for Dale and nowhere near a replacement for Lucas.

Menzel is the player that can make a difference when it matters and this is where we likely put the investment in.

No such thing really is there. The calf takes a bit to heal.

I remember he did it about five years ago and was out for ages.
