Definitely lunatic.

Funny you should bring that up. I was remembering that song this morning thinking back to a night spent on a verandah at the base of the Cathedral Range with a couple of mates about 20 years ago.

We were playing Dark Side on repeat (tape deck!) and had a debate for about 20 minutes (whilst listening to it) as to whether Brain Damage was going slower than usual.

Which is impressive considering it's only a 3:48 song.

as you do...

Reckon poor ol MM will struggle without having someone like Eddie covering his ar5e in the boardroom and bullying the stooges in the media.

Given the seemingly fractious nature of our board I can see him getting the flick halfway through his contract if things don't go well. The fingers they will be a pointing.

Hope they manage to give him his full term.

Well if we won the emphasis would have been on the game... but as things stand... the media ony wanna talk about the mick v eddie feud...
Were expected to go down..... but the interest is in the feud....

Sorry Synners, you are forgetting MM's M.O. for the last 20 odd years, problem is he's not at the only act in town like he was at WCE or the biggest act in town like The pies.

People hoping for positive press because of MM are going to be disappointed.

It's open season and if he's made the same amount of enemies in the press in Melb he did here he's going to be under Mark Neeld pressure.

Do you think our board and management are able to handle things like Eddie did with all his media tools?

We have some very highly placed contacts in the media.
We just have no idea how to use anything.

Though we did roll out a few to give Ratts a pump last season.... but they have been put back in the cupboard again.
Look some of the big tv personalities for footy are Carlton people.
some of the biggest heavyweights in media are Carlton people.Harold Mitchell would be a good person to be approaching ...

Do you think we hav e the deep thinkers around board level in regard to anything outside of shoring themselves up?
Can someone tell me what Mrs Pratts senior VP status entails exactly?

In footy there are two teams... on field and off field.
Off field does more work than we most people so on field works seamlessly.
Eddie does it well... but other clubs do also.....

We dont.

anyway.... so who fives a @#$%&!???

Were Carlton @#$%&! the rest!!!.... right????

Thats how we tackle the media.....

Or the other comment that president made giving advice to Ratten.... at a AGM.

"You should know better than that Rats.... give em nothing!!"

But what of MM Synners.?

Does he have a responsibility to help with the Carlton brand?

Because he's been trained by WCE and Collingwood that he can treat the media and fans as he pleases.

Does he still have that luxury with us?

A cold chill just went through marketing and membership.

if mm is a massive failure..... just join me in burning a cross outside of sticks and friends home.....

in the meantime.. lets see what happens next shall we???

I know what happens next .

If he starts winning he talks to the media, if he loses he sulks and gets people to pick up after him.

If by homework you mean watching the same TV as everybody else has for 20 years, then yes, I've done my homework.

I don't give a koss.

but seriously the koss represent excellent headphones for the price point.
punch three times above their price.
just in case this pink Floyd moment inspires anyone to look for headphones and get that sounds stage going into space-

I don't know what is sarcasm and what is honesty with this one. Truth is, we are a bit like St Kilda were in that we have a reasonable degree of talent but we don't gel enough as a team (I still think a lot of that is list mismanagement). I predicted we were heading in that direction quite a few years ago. Mind you, I'm entering this thread blind and that may be the theme all along.

It's all well and good to give Malthouse five years, if he keeps refreshing the list but we don't want to keep flogging a dead horse.

Laugh at st kilda but they went a lot further in the last decade than we have of recent times.

2 GF's and 3 Prelims, better than what we have come up with.

What this club needs to do is pretend the club started in 2000... instead of 1864
Wining flags 100 years ago .... 40 years ago... and 30 years ago .. with our last flag around 20 years ago means JACK flower SHIT to anyone under 25.......

In this century we have been worst performed club of all.....

But are we really daring to believe were a powerhouse still???
In this century StKilda have shown us a clean pair of heels as has everybody else.
Our record has been the worst..... but dont worry..... Germinder said 20 by 2020

So we should believe it.

I like hanging shiit on Liverpool supporters that sprout the "we are a big club because we have many (history) cups etc" mantra

Kinda saddening when I realise we're using the same arguments

Yes, 16 premierships is great... 17 years since our last though

History is great to reflect on... but when you begin to rely on it, your club has issues.

Robbo gets in another free whack at MM tonight.

He must love not having to worry about Eddie going back at him anymore.

Mick better start winning quickly.

Mick is certainly very bitter towards Eddie and Collingwood.
Imagine if we go 0-5, which is a distinct possibility, and the pressure from the media.
Starting to have a bad feeling about this season, i am off to the worry room.
