Farewell Jordan. Has there ever been a more average footballer to play over 100 games for Carlton? I can't think of one.

Brad Fisher?

99 for Fish.

Really? How come he didn't play just one more?? Slack.

Not much of a draft after the first few picks, would struggle to select about 5 players after Russell's selection. All the best but I doubt his movement to another club will bite us, doesn't like contested ball and there are times you just have to go.

One time he went was on that sunday twilight game in 09? Against port Where kureze got us over line.

Happened right in front of me and we were to rows back. The port player went off in a strecher.

A confidence player whose confidence appeared shot over the last 2 years. The year before showed what he was capable of, if he can regain even near that form someone will be getting a bargain.

This for me is the frustrating thing about JR, we always remember "that one time" he did something great.

His 2-3 high performing seasons look alot like the breakout years of Matthew Allan in a stats sense:

http://www.blueseum.org/tiki-index.php? ... +J+Russell

http://www.blueseum.org/tiki-index.php? ... 3A+M+Allan

Allan's 99 was bis breakout year, following on from good previous years. Russell's 2010, with a 2nd in tbe B&F, followed strong 2009 in particular. And thereafter both players games fell away.

I can see him going to Port... not sure any of the finals 'contenders' would bother with him. That one great year is fading from peoples minds at a rapid rate.

Good luck to JR just the same...

What sort of pick would we expect to get from the AFL? Late 2nd rounder/3rd rounder?

If someone does pick him up.. expect him to be a success there. He's still a good age and now knows what he has to do to pay footy at the top level. he didn't get much chance here in recent times but we know he can play.

Obviously injuries and confidence cost him over the last 2 years. Although I think the attempt to turn him into a midfielder/utility certainly didn't help. At his best, was a very good running defender. Never really showed much in any other role. I think with Yarran shifting back and the insistence on playing Gibbs back, it was always going to be really tough.

Yep. If they can turn Mitch Morton, they can turn anyone.

who was that Pt Adelaide retread we had 3-4 seasons ago, played 2-3 games, 1 where he dropped the ball with nobody anywhere near him and crawled after it in the middle of the MCG. Could Sydney turn him?
