It's a very good read actually...makes a lot of sense...(I have a signed copy).

Yeah, not doubting the content, but sadly designers do judge books by their covers.

On a side note from his book ;) .....

Was told the club met with him on Monday while he was in town for On The Couch as Sticks wanted Roos to say no to his face.... Was told Sticks got what he wanted... a "no" to his face.....

I think it was more like this:

Sticks: "We need to show a process we all know Mick is a done deal.... Roosy I'll shout you a coffee if you say no to my face for coaching Carlton."
Roos: "But I thought Mick wasn't a done deal and hadn't been approached before last Wednesday.. I may be interested you know if Jeanie shares her hairdresser with me....."
Sticks: "Shup up Roosy... Drink your coffee and say no to me!"

and then went onto say

"Roosy, play your cards right and when the old man keels over in 3 years you have your ticket back to Melbourne in the bag. Obviously we will say that we are going through a process, we always do, but we can trot out the line about wanting a premiership coach who barracked for the Blues as a kid"

"And you can have Jeannie as well as teh hairdresser if you like"

Whatever happened to the stop-at-nothing approach of George Harris and Jack to running this great club?
How have we come to this?

What do you mean. We have stopped at nothing.

Or so we keep getting told.

Not that it's been a wasted exercise. What Roosy now knows is his market worth. There'd be 3 Melbourne jobs that he'd seriously entertain. Carlton is one of those, Hawthorn is the other and you might be surprised who the third is. He's always thought Hawthorn is probably the better fit. I tend to agree, despite him being a mad Carlton fan as a kid. But it's nice to know that you're wanted and at the same time find out what those who want you are willing to pay you. 2014 might have been very different, but it's not 2014. The club needs a coach now, and that's what we'll get we've got.

So Doc, which is the 3rd club?

Melbourne - but things would have to change. To be honest, if he doesn't coach again at AFL level, it wouldn't surprise me.

As I remember the story when George Harris was negotiating with Barassi, Barassi had changed his mind and Harris spent a few hours on the phone with him until he changed his mind.

St Kilda changed a reluctant Malcolm blight's mind. That worked out well.

On that basis the Dogs should be first in line for his services
