I'm betting on us being brave

and almost...

almost

'cept for our kicking - for goal - to position - across goal - behind goals - near the wings- into the pockets - of ankles - etc

the umpires

an unpredictable wind

an untied bootlace

seventeen posters

and a strangulation that occurs to one of our players as they run through the banner - that strangulation buggers up all the structures!

We are in with a real show as long as nobody wears bright coloured boots or has too much shoulder strapping, and the players all shave their heads

Bring in more taggers, ratts!
We need to stop Franklin and rioli
Also Sewell, Mitchell, hodge if he plays, Lewis, roughy, birchall from the back half.
We need to worry about the 'birthday boy' also. This week I'm thinking a savage or puopolo type will kick 6-8 goals
That's 9 hard tags we NEED to run.
Then, and only then, will we have a chance

This game is not about our structures or game plans. It's about stopping theirs
Let's have a TAG-off
Tagathon
Tagfest

That's a tough call. Without being at the selection table to know the exact roles each player is assigned I am certain Ratt's picks the best available side to win the match. The selection of Watson is clearly an example. With Waite out indefinitely, we need a CHF and Henderson has been earmarked allowing Watson to play a key defensive role. If Waite were available the Henderson would play CHB and no spot for Watson. We will still make the 8 and by finals time hopefully our best side is available. The week off will certainly do Kruezer's knee some good.

You make some good points to justify Ratten and the MC.

Let's see the flip side.

Waite has been out for over 4 weeks but has played Bower, Jamison Hampson and Kreuzer forward before Henderson.
Dropped Bower who has been one of our best defenders before Henderson goes forward and Watson comes in.
Kruezer plays on with "suspect knee".
Plays Judd injured, by his own admission.
Have been smashed for weeks on end in the clearances yet play spare man in defence.
Judd been done over week after week yet no support from his team mates.
Countless skill errors and goal kicking errors.
Forward structure non-existant, apart from bombing it forward to Betts against taller opponents. :screwy:
Out of form players been "threatend" with dew kicking yet no major changes.
Doesn't trust new kids to bring in.
Late or no reaction when the team is well beaten on the day.

If we make the finals and have out best players available of course we are in with a chance but don't assume anything especially the way we have gone the last six weeks.

Even though I don't think we have played great footy at any part of the year.

Just take a moment to consider that Ratten and Co were actually doing their best...

a scary thought...

That's the heart of the issue. Injuries aside, do you have any opinion on why the players aren't doing their best?

Personally, I think they're confused and appear to be getting little guidance from above. That, and maybe the fact that whatever changes the coaching panel are prescribing are not achieving anything. This causes more angst, confusion and critically, a lack of belief in the vision being sold to them.
