Whats the game plan for today?

If it is true we loaded up on training to prepare for the Saints then we aren't taking it "one week at a time" and might have missed the chance to boost the all important percentage at the end of the season. Could be the difference between a home final and another interstate final or top 4 or not.

The coaches can't be happy with the performance in the 1st half.

Clearly we're not taking it one week at a time, nor should we be.

I don't think the coaches would be happy with the performance either.

That doesn't mean the players are mentally soft and not putting in though.

Frustrating match.I expected it wouldnt be as soft as some had predicted.
Give Eddie a run in the middle to get him into the match.Ditto Walker.
Ellard is ineffective. He is just that split second off AFL pace.
Duigan still looking out of touch.
On the plus side Jammo is running himself into form. Hendo solid.
We will run over the top of them in the second half but I would love to
see some more structure going forward.Maybe play Kruz or Hampson one out in the square against the
younger bodies.

I understand the training load and travel stuff but sheesh does that usually result in fumbling, bumbling and kicking like C graders.?

clubs have been talking about training loads for a few years now so its definitely fact.

The evidence is there to prove clubs have been flat for periods throughout the year because they've loaded up on training to get them through the season.

but is it fact that we've been in extra heavy training the past week or 2 ?

So you agree the players are soft and not putting in?

They won't be, but coaches are rarely satisfied. Watch (not that Channel 7 nor their commentators pick it up) for the formation to go back to one we saw against the Pies and Dockers. Would like to still see Eddie get a longer run in the middle though.

Poor skills, even poorer work rate and soft at the ball. A bunch of kids have smashed us in tight.

An indictment on all involved.

Our clearance/stoppage work continues to be a worry and defensively we are woeful. Not to mention how poor we are going into f50.

Training loads or mentally soft?

Don't think the players are mentally soft.

Saw your name and knew what your view would be.

Do you ever think beyond the scoreboard?

Doc and club29 have told you all whats happening out there.

Have a think about it people.

training loads a theory or fact ?

Just a theory this week Rexy although i have made it a point to really study how teams monitor their peaks and troughs fitness wise and a lot of evidence points to teams loading up the weeks surrounding GWS and GC.
Time will tell but the behaviours of our players out there at the moment show symtoms of fatigue.

Hope such a plan does not backfire on us. If it doesnt we will be better for it.

I really hope we don't have different game plans for different days. We should be playing like we want to play for the season and finals. Practice makes perfect.

If we aren't mentally soft and not putting in, are we really only a 20 point better team than GWS? Are you suggesting the coaches are instructing us to play this way?

Ratts didn't look too happy, this is a good way to play themselves out of form.
GWS having a good crack at it.
We look like we are going through the motions, not good enough, every opposition team should be treated with respect.

While it's a week at a time you do have to think about the year as a whole too as a top club. At some point, if you want to peak properly and be "finals fit" at year's end you have to have periods where load is increased. Occasionally it amounts to a "sh!t" performance. Same with any sporting club or athlete.

Why do these commentary flogs feel the need to "hope" for a team or just plain barrack for them? Just call the @#$%&! game. Won't need to "hope" too much for these teams in a year or two when they're all over the other clubs
