Maric had as many hitouts as Kreuzer and Hampson combined gerry, so you're spot on. Richmond won the count 38-26, but we came out victors at the clearances in the end, 39-32.

Just had a look at the Yazz GOTY, he actually does not appear to be out - Ch 7 showed a crappy angle which looks like his out, but he is actually on an angle with the boundary umpire only a few feet away. The ball was IN!

Only if Kevin Bartlett is NOT on the ajudication panel.

Although even if he is and it doesnt make GOTY the AFL will still have it on their promo.

I wasn't overly worried about last night and even when things were getting close late in the 3rd I just sat there waiting for us to get it over and done with. I'm pleased we ended up winning by 7 goals because the hype around Richmond was ridiculous and 7 goals is essentially a flogging.

I am excited for the next few weeks with players like Jamo and Duigan returning. Hopefully Walker is not far off because I think we missed him more than either Jamo or Duigan last night. I thought Hampson was a little ordinary in the first half but he looked much better in the second. I have bagged Bower a fair bit but he did OK last night, now he just needs to keep it up.

Bit disappointing to see our goal kicking was still by and large rubbish. A little surprised at Thornton and Betts missing some easy shots as they are normally fairly reliable kicks, although Eddie did get cleaned up just before one of his shots.

Can anyone tell me why our players are doing the buddy arc at set shots?
Who is teach them this crap goal kicking?

GO BLUES!

 to Rats for his post game message . he realistically assessed the games of Bower & Russell ,& the rest of the team.
not a bad effort by the lads last night , tho very patchy form at times. The form of the rucks & their marking was pleasing.
A special mention to Laidler ,who was the rock in defense & Henderson who keeps improving each game

Agree, he was terrific. Really didn`t think we would risk playing him. Happy to be wrong.

I think Russell is in real trouble to keep his half back flank position now ! especially as he appears to have lost all confidence

A little confused, based on last night's result does that mean Richmond are still straight into the prelim?

Nothing like a win by the underdogs in Blue to get the season off, who would have thunk last year's journeymen that only made it a few weeks into September would show up the mighty Tigers. A team that had such an awesome pre-season that WEG's successor could have been forgiven for drafting up some concept sketches of Tigers for the Monday after the GF.

Did anybody see the closeup of the Richmond fan as the broadcast went to one of the breaks. A portly gent who looked like he was passing a couple of kidney stones in slow motion from the expression on his face! Pure Gold!!

Good win Blues, never in doubt. Well done Paul B, thought the pressure was on, the critics were out but I thought he stood up well and went a long way to answering those questions. I love it when blokes under pressure stand up to their critics. Also loved Kane Lucas when he came on. Only had a short period to make an impact but certainly made himself known, cant wait to see him get more gametime. Oh and well done Hammer as well, Lazer eye surgery, who'd a thunk it!!! Carrots BOG for mine!

I saw a grab on the TV news tonight about Yarran's incredible play/goal from about 4 different cameras.

And then on one view; I heard Eddie McGuire screaming ''that ball was definitely out of bounds''...........

After copping crap all week about how we were going to get thrashed by Richmond. Rolled into work and EVERYBODY was already out on the road. Funny as.
