Someone on this topic said we're on a hiding to nothing. I agree. We have to be cool here, do the job, whatever is required. Melbourne have talent and the question is whether they will come to the fore with all that's happened. But we'll see.

Some really good points made on TV last night. The only Top 8 team Melbourne have beaten is Freo at the G, who have a horrific record at that ground.

Melbourne struggle mightily with teams who have a strong game plan and stick to it. They are a talented yet very fragile group - as evidenced by their average losing margin stat, which is an indictment on them as players.

This could be a hot contest for a quarter or so, but if our guys keep level heads and stick to what has worked for them all year, Melbourne will not stick to the task.

After reading some of the pretty damning articles on Melbourne FC I think they're cooked for the year. Bailey seemed to have been the only senior person at the club the players respected.

I can't believe all the calls for Garry Lyon to take over.
Why would he want to leave his lucrative media role to take on the most stressful role in football?

I really hope they are sufficiently stupid to target Robbo ... they'll need additional stretchers on hand to cart the Melbourne players away.

IN: Carazz

OUT: Houla

Melbourne +38.5

We only beat them by 48 on a cool, dry Friday night.

Wet, cold and they'll be a little more than pumped for this you'd think.

It had been raining before the last Melbourne game. We also played some alright footy in the wet against Sydney and Port.

..dee's are no chance vs the top teams cos they play an outdated gameplan as compared to the modern footy that is used predominately these days.. ..caretaker coach isn't gonna be rejigging that crappy gameplan too much in a few days.. ..way too much off-field shizen, and poor [seriously poor] on-field leadership..

To play on who??

The last thing we need is someone gifting Melb 3 goals in the first and giving them a sniff.
The guy wont play finals unless we get bad injuries. No need to play seniors in that case.

We have to play a bit of keep things off especially early just to take the sting out of the game. They are going to come out like obsessed demons and it's up to us to roll with the punches until we slowly but surely take control.

Watts played loose man in defense last time.

I can't see how Melbourne can kick a winning score against us.

Melbourne have generally bounce back well after their thrashings this year.
Need to kill this contest in the first qrt and then play bruise free footy...

You can't be serious.

If you know anything about football you couldn't possibly think Melbourne will win by +38. If you're guessing at an unlikley result well I suppose anything is possible but you'd have to think Carlton have the team and enough motivation of their own to take the win.

+38 pts for Melbourne, well I guess that's why sportsbet and the like make lots of money!

Maybe you're on Melbourne with a 38 pt start??

Why not just play the Pratt woman and scare the 4 pts out of them.
