Handy player at Richmond is a long drive to being a handy player at Carlton in blockbuster games.
The lad tries hard but isnt up to the standard requires at this stage...no left hand with regard handpassing
and seems slow in traffic with his reaction time.
Will be a Bullants regular based on his his first two games....

Lucas is a far better option and I'm confused as to why he isnt getting a game...

So why was he considered to be in our best 22?

Sick to death of this Collins bashing. He was involved in the play and he buggered up a few times. He took a couple of marks and had two shots at goal for two points. Had he kicked those two goals, people would have said that he is raw but we have something to work on.

Go back and look at Simmo's first 3-4 games and Grigg's first game. Have a look at Russell's and Bower's first 3 years. FFS, Russell had a shocker against Coll and he's in our leadership group.

Personally, I reckon the kid suffered some stage fright. Would rather have that than some cocky kid who thinks he owns the game.

The way I see it, I would rather someone is conspicuous by their errors and their involvement than conspicuous by the fact that they are inconspicuous.

IMHO, we will win from the trade with Grigg. Grigg is nothing more than a cheapie link player who receives an easy handball and gives off an easy hanball. Ditto with his kicks. And anyone who thinks that Grigg is a hard nut is deluding themselves.

I hope Collins goes back to the seconds, re finds his touch, starts to believe that he belongs at the premier club in the land and comes back a much better player. IMHO, he will

I agree. I think Collins will be a fine player.

Oh, and can we change the title of the thread yet? It would be unforgivable if it was slightly amusing, but it's a cross between a daggy dad joke and a Ben Elton one-liner. Whoever the genius who thought it up...... :garthp: to you. Change the flower thing back.

If that isn't game changing tough play by Grigg then I am deluded.

How many games at AFL level?
Only 2 games at a new club.
Played well for the Ants the week before so deserved a chance.
Not everyone can tear up the comp like Gibbs......sorry, bad analogy....Gibbs is a number 1 pick with 5 years in the system and still just a serviceable player.

I've got no problem with him having faults, and he apparently did deserve the chance. Even what he managed in his first game was ok. That completely disappeared the following week and he spent an inordinate amount of time making a decision on getting rid of the ball, then disposed it with horrible technique.

That's a long way from his best, and is easily his worst game at AFL level. He should be doing better than that at this point in his career. He's got time on his side and plenty of names to stand in front of him, so I'm not too fussed.

Why not compare him with Gibbs? They are the same age after all.
