Ellard was given a role as a tagger on a very good but slowish ball hunter in his 2nd game.

It doesn't mean he pidgeon holes in that role forever.

AW among others spent a season tagging as part of their development, so its not a life sentence.

Hmmm ... I thought Ellard was servicable and thats about it. Don't understand all the hype about him. Hope he improves but I would not put any money on it.

Sorry, what I should have said was that my total winnings are $500......

I've lost on Melbourne and Richmond.

I've been told I should whack that $500 on collingwood to win which would give me about $700 but I hate betting big like that. But I might whack $100 on the pies if I can find odds of around $1.80 or so.

And if Carlton win and I loose $100????? Hell I'd be wrapped!

So I can't loose! :-)

Paris Hilton will find her hymen before you find $1.80 for the pies.

To win this one and we can of course, we have to come up with something new...if we play too static we are f$%^&d and if we try to play the paddock strategy when going forward we are f#$%^&d as well....we need to play instinctive football..no hard tags just keep it simple..

Problem with instinctive football is that in the not too distant past our instincts have sucked.

Not sure what you mean by that mate....I just reckon when we are too cute or have to think too hard out there that's when the wheels fall off....

The term 'tagger' is redundant in todays football.

speaking of tagger.. Does anyone else think that Joseph deserves a free run in the middle? We know he has the tank, his skills are improving and he is awesome at breaking tackles.

I also loved seeing Garlett in the centre bounces. He got a few clearances against WC and looked dangerous.

This is the game to try these things, we have nothing to lose.

I dont want to see any of our players having a free run.

I'd like to see AJ continue to work on getting more of the ball, improving his disposal and become able to work for his teammates, in addition to performing his role.

No he isn't. He's awesome at getting caught.

Is this our first game back at the 'G since the Melbourne game?

I think we'll win this well.

Agreed. Whats staggering is you can see the opposition guy catching up, you can see AJ see the guy catching up, you start yelling at the telly, you hear the crowd start yelling for him to get rid of it, and he still gets caught.

I'm in Perth, but can you lucky people who go to the games regularly do what they do in the Pommy Pantomimes and yell out "He's behind you" everytime he get the ball.

I have raised the idea before of AJ playing as a mid-fielder. He is fast, can kick the ball irrespective of what others may think, is aggressive when some of our other mid-fielders aren't. As far as getting caught, everyone has been caught this year, even the unstoppable Judd. With Ellard in the team the tagger's position is covered if need be and there is always Carazzo.

Garlett/Yarran at the centre bounces would certainly add another dimension wouldn't it? More than a touch of magic there. Having one of them as the outside guy, wow.
