Did you want us to kick it to the 18 Saints jumpers permanently stationed in our forward 50? Our tactics kept St Kilda to 4 goals and had us two and a half goals in front in time-on of the last qtr - pretty effective tactics for 115 of 120 minutes. If you want to gift-wrap possession to the Saints, by all means blindly boot it into forward 50 and watch Fisher, Gilbert and Goddard combine for 40 marks between them.

I know what you are saying about the quick ball movement but the reality is that only on a couple of occasions a quarter will you get a quick enough and clean enough clearance to spot up a forward in any space against this mob. Otherwise you'll just have to be patient and move it laterally until an opening presents itself up forward.

Going to the sterile-dome on a Monday night to watch the latest installment of 'tackle-ball' would have to be one of the least enticing fixtures in the AFL calendar. Good luck to the hearty souls of TC that are brave enough to venture out to see the Blues this week - I hope your team rewards you for the sacrifice because it won't be a pleasurable spectacle to witness.

Wrong on a few counts there Sedat

Don't blame you. You're not the first to underate Carlton or overrate ther own team.

I was one of the hearty souls who ventured out and LOVED every minute of it.

We could not have done it with Fevola at full forward.

Agreed

Our forwards are really sharing it around and working well defensively. Our forward efficiency has been brilliant. We aren't scoring because we are getting a million forward entries from our midfield papering over the cracks. Four forwards averaging at least one goal assist a game is pretty damn good

Isn't that the truth?!

We look SO much more exciting with the multiple scorers. Sure, it was great to see Fev boot the 60m goals, the freakish goals etc etc...BUT, this really limited our untapped potential. Now that Fev is gone, we are free to experiment. Some of the results have been absolutely amazing!

How good issit to see 5 goals Betts, 4 goals Garlett, 4 goals Waite, 2 goals Setanta, 1 goal Yarran etc???

Absolutely loving Carlton post Fev!

No one seems to want to sack the recruiters based on how well the team can play (see the Geelong and St Kilda games).

That they are not consistent (see the Collingwood game) is a task to be addressed but given the lack of experience of this playing group is not in itself a major surprise.

It does mean that when focused they can beat any one on any given day. This should be the focus for the future.

They will not win every game but they can win when they get it together.

You just have to admire the ability of Yarran to run, bounce and deliver the ball in the forward 50. I just want to see him do this to win a close game.

I was really impressed with Sauce though. He made himself a target through the middle of the ground and took some impressive marks.

Have to agree, despite my obvious bias. I thought Sauce had a cracker. Some decent contested grabs, some nice handballs in traffic, presented well through the corridor as TruBlueBrad said. Plenty of great tap work. Very happy to see the lad turn in a solid performance, he has worked hard and thoroughly deserves every success that comes his way.

Isn't that great! Letting My Sainta supporter friends know that I will be dead and StKilda still won't have caught up on that tally

On top of everything already mentioned.....the fact that we kicked 15 goals 2 behinds after qtr time is one of the most pleasing aspects of the win.

Fantastic conversion should not be discounted.

It all changed as a spectacle because of Carlton’s urge to play on, their speed of ball carry and their determination to bring the ball back into the central corridor to attack.

An awesome, awesome performance which started in the coaching box and was played out magnificently on the field.

Faultless, in many respects.
