Sydney seems the most likely destination. Love to get ROK, but can't see it. Would make the kiss Fev gave him all the more ironic.

Surely the Swannies would have to give up their first pick or a White, Vezpremi, Meredith, or SOMETHING of worth.

Would West Coast be interested?

..yanno, i don't think a club has to give up much of anything.. ..either Fev has totally written himself off at the blues, and they'll take anything.. ..or he stays, and continues to be a disruptive influence at carlton.. ..either way works well for rival clubs..

Tonight's no-show is disappointing; I think I would've preferred that Fevola face the music, one way or another. On the flip side, I guess we don't want the whole night to be a Fev circus sideshow, so perhaps it's a positive thing?

Would be interesting to know whose decision this really was - his, or the club's.

Surely this means that he is now up for trade. Remembering that trade week commences next Monday I think the Blues will use the remainder of this week to shop him around and see what offers they get. It's pointless them announcing he's up for trade now only to have egg on their face later if no deal can be done.
I beleive they will trade him if a suitable deal can be struck this week. If not they will decide to keep him.

..sure it could be a problem for the swines, or where-ever he goes to.. ..but, they'd bank on the fact it took us several years of his crap to get fed up with him, and with a fresh start at a new club he'd behave to begin with, and then he'd retire before he caused too much trouble..

Seriously Josh - offered up for trade? No one is interested. It'll come out in due course...but even Freo have laughed at the clubs suggestion of parting with pick 4 in a trade involving Fevola. We're in the 21st century...if you can't physically get to a meeting then there are ways and means of doing so. What I've heard is that we're not waiting on any Carlton Directors - rather the AFLPA boss to meet with the AFL and Sticks/Swann to see what 'sanctions' can be included into Brendan's existing contract.

Doc, I'm sure you have better contacts than me, but I would be amazed if a club wasn't prepared to take Fev on. Not pick 4, I'm not surprised even Freo would laugh at that one, but a player or 2nd rounder to take on his contract would be the way to go.

I reckon ROK would be so pissed if this all went down and they didn't give him the option of going home in exchange for Fev.

I reckon we'd have to either pick up a large part of Fev's salary, or part with our second rounder for that to get over the line.

If he loses his career this could get ugly for several parties.

Crown is already under siege for breach of liquor licensing regulations (for continuing to serve an intoxicated person), and Fev may have a civil case against them.

Channel 9 also had a "duty of care" to their employee, yet they used him as a story instead of fulfilling that duty, and Fev may have a civil case against them also.

As bad as he was, we have laws that should have prevented this happening, and who looked after his interests when he was incapable of doing so himself ?

If they were a smart crew up north they'd have a fairly tight contract in place. There is no way he'd be playing again after 1 stuff up. That's the risk the SS would be taking and that's why they won't give up anything that will be to the detriment of their future.

LOL.

As if no club would want him. WTF are you smoking? :smoking:

We just wont get 2 first round picks for him.

A fair deal will come our way.

Most likely scenario.

Kots, I don't it's an egg in our face scenario ...

if we put Fev up for trade and get a good deal then great...
if we don't get a good offer and we end up keeping him, then Fev will maybe realise he's not the bees knees and may even serve to humble him a bit...

it's win/win

why call a meeting if all directors arent able to present in the first place.

doesnt make much sense that they wouldnt just come out and say he is up for trade if thats the intention. not too difficult to decide & announce that part is it?

Get rid of Fevola and the club, its sponsors, its supporters, its coterie groups, its past players, its staff and current playing list will be divided for a minimum of 12 months. This isn't Michael Young...it's Brendan Fevola. No one...I repeat no one at the club currently has the balls to go through with a trade that delivers us less than what the current Coleman Medalist is worth.

That said...can this person perform with restrictions placed so heavily on him?

As of today...he is a contracted player of the Carlton Football Club. The window to get rid of him has long passed. Happy to read the Caro fueled gossip that he's going to Sydney and that ROK wants to come home - but those discussions haven't even started.

He be contrite for a while and if he ever does want another contract he'd better be a good boy, although he'll be 30-31 by then.
The antiJudd doesn't do contrite. If you watch the footage at the Brownlow he seems jealous of Judd and Rebecca being on camera and centre stage.
When he walks into a room he demands to be the centre of attention. Mates who've been to parties he's turned up at say so. They can take him or leave him.
But can he completely realign his relationships with everyone at Carlton and turn into Bruce Doull Mark II? Seems unlikely.
If he goes to another club circumstances mean he makes new relationships - much easier than changing old ones.
Once he left things would change and he'd be welcome back at the club.
If he didn't get drunk...

Yes, but IMHO Gehrig was holding them back. Their best shot at a premiership came after he retired.

I, like many, am a fan of Fev when he puts on a freakshow, and I don't think it will be easy to watch him kick bags of goals for another team..

BUT

the last thing we need is a selfish and immature 'leader' who gets away with constant bad behaviour putting our young stars offside (as BKB also pointed out).

For me, I'd take the team unit of Judd, Gibbs, Murph, Kreuzer over Fev any day. With Warnock, Sauce, Hammer, Kreuze and even Santy, we can adjust to cover Fev. We may not have a Coleman medallist amongst them, but we could have a spread of goalkickers with them as well as with Betts, Garlett, Yarran and Murphy. Moving away from the one-dimensional forward line may not be such a bad thing as it has become predictable with us, and as we know, Fev, despite being the leading goalkicker, is unpredictable and inconsistent.

I just wish it we didn't have to wait till Friday :banghead:

So they want him to stay with strings attached.
If they can't put the strings in place then it is out?

A few rumours circulating that there may still be an official announcement made later today or possibly even tonight at the CFC B&F. With all this happening as we speak it will be damn hard for the club to have its B&F tonight and not say anything!! Makes sense that they may even make some sort of announcment tonight...

Brendan was not asked by the club to not attend. It was HIS decision to not attend. May be reading to much into it but does that tell us something?
