It was Beams that made contact with him I think. Robinson was right next to him.

A Carlton player collided with another umpire in the last quarter, not sure who it was though.

It was Mark Austin .... after the Pies had kicked a goal.

It was accidental - actually if anything it was the umpires fault as he was running backwards and not looking where he was running.

Pies went ugly after 1/4 time and brought us down to their level.

Geez, we really are ruing the loss to the Scum.

Take a look at the ladder. Our % is the 3rd best, so had we won one of those games we lost by 4pts, we would be sitting in 3rd spot now.

Lot to like about The Blues, now that the MC have finally shown some balls and picked a 'team for the future' (ie: playing the Austins and Yarrans and Hampsons, instead of the slow Clokes and Houlihans).

Young defense developing together (Austin, Bower, Jamison, Joseph).

And some quality young talls (Kruezer, Hampson, Warnock).

Pies didn't have Fraser, Didak, Thomas, Cloke and Medhurst, but we didn't have Warnock, Walker, Carrazzo, Grigg.

Will be interesting to see how the Adelaide 'Cyborgs' play this week...

They have tried to play with more adventure... but they dont have the cattle..

I'm sure they can be drilled to play to that type of plan...can't they??? I thought it had nothing to do with the cattle you have?

Most of the penalties for umpire incidents over the weekend were fines but Austin's got nothing to worry about

Is that Sam Lipski in the third pic. Is he a Colllingwood supporter?

Just imagine the footy banter between he and his good mate Dick Pratt

...Yarran was dismal... does he have a groin-related issue? He was really missing any burst of acceleration. That chase of Heath Shaw didn't have him really gasping so you get the feeling he has another gear there; should have done more. His previously noted level of attack on the footy - or lack thereof - was another 'highlight'.

The talent is there but something is holding back his output. Frustrating player...

This was his second game wasn't it? Okay, the chase wasn't great, but we were told when we recruited him that he would mostly play up forward this year and be used as a burst player. The club acknowledged his fitness wasn't a big strength but is confident that over time (read, a couple of decent pre-seasons) that he will be able to play a midfield role.

Just look at the sliky take from the Judd handpass and subsequent goal that Yarran scored. From what we've been told, that is why we recruited him. We've also been told the rest of the package will come with time. Let's give him some, don't you think...

I have had stick the last few weeks from people thinking I was getting thick with Tbird for the sake of it.
Now I am at a disadvantage as I see limited games live and everything else delayed, but from what I have seen of the pies game a big improvement from Tbird, well done and a good show from Waite.
Would love to see Carlos out there but hard to change that team, cant really drop anyone and I dont know how he went with Ants at teh weekend, anyone??

I watched the game again last night and I noted a few things.

Firstly, If you think we play we wide then believe me the filth play wider if this possible.

We definitely look much more dangerous down the guts and in fact we look like always scoring when we go down the middle. There are a couple of players who when they have the ball stall for so long that this tactic becomes impossibe to implement and they are Thornton and Simpson.

Whenever these two take a mark they automatically make hand signals to slow things down and it doesnt matter at what stage of the quarter we're at...flowering weird..

It sure is Sam Lipski and he confessed to being a Collingwood supporter at the WOC night at Raheen last year. You can imagine how well that went down.

Not true, that was a specific part of one quarter where they did it consecutively after a runner had come out.

We have blokes constantly monitoring output levels, they tell the boys when they need to reign it in for a bit to run out the game.
