Let's not get too far ahead of ourselfs here with the F-word. Still a bit too early, we shall see after our next 4 winnable games.

i know i'm in the minority herebut i reckon the only games we will win for the rest of the year are Essendon*, richmond, st kilda and if we're lucky against port and the kangas.

we shouldn't worry too much about finals this year, but expect to sneak in next year and then to start winning finals the year after, and then give the flag a crack the year after that.

We're not as good as Doggies, Brisbane or Dawks.

We could pinch a win against Filth, Aints, Crows, North, Port or Sydney

We should beat Bombers and Tigers

From here on, its all about momentum and the work done in-between games.... If we roll the Filth this week, but don't adjust to the Scum's game the next week, then it's all for nothing.

There is no point looking at the finals from here. The run home for us is far too tough to be looking at anything other than a week-by-week schedule.... add that to the fact that the other teams 'on the bubble' have a more friendly schedule and we are pushing shit uphill.

That said, we do play those other 'bubble' sides in the run home - and if you want to mix it with the big boys, then you need to earn your shot. There is a real opportunity here for the playing grup to show us something special.... I pee my pants in anticipation.

If we beat Collingwood again - theres a wonderful chance of being 8 and 6 after the Richmond game - Then its only WL WL WL WL - or any other combination of 4 wins from 8 games - and we are almost in the final 8.

No point making finals this year. Will make our draw "harder" next year by playing other finalist more often. Still if we make it, I won't complain! :)

The equation is pretty simple now, we have 11 games left and St Kilda and Kangaroos are two of them the only teams in front of us.

If we beat St Kilda and the Kangaroos we are in the finals.

I'm not fully expecting to make finals, especially given out last 2 games. That's ok though we know where we stand but, I'd just like to sit in the 8 for a week or two just to know what it feels like. It'd give alot of hope and certainly brighten the place up.

Another way of looking at it is that we 5-3 from the last 8 games.

Well I think we are definitely in with a shot. It's going to be very close. I hope we make finals but we could just miss out or just make it. The only thing certain is the race for eighth spot is going to be as tight as a nun's cauliflower

Wow  7 wins will get us into the 8 this year - would that be a first?

We can get there but we'll have to win the expected and un-expected to do it. That'll mean a win this week.

Only 3 of the last 11 games are against teams below us on the ladder.

Therefore pencil in 3 wins.

One of the teams above is St Kilda...time to smash them. Pencil in a 4th win.

People are confident this week against Collingwood. Pencil in a 5th win.

Pencil in one upset, equals a 6th win and 11 overall.

:-D

The way I see it is that if we can get over the Filth (highly possible) then the next three are definitely win-able.

That would make us 9-6 with some huge momentum pushing us into the Sydney game.

Who knows what can happen then....

Tex comes back
There 26-28 guys legitimately fighting for a place in the 22
And there are some eminently win-able games in the final 6

The key to making the Eight is not dropping the Should Win games and snagging a couple of the Could Win games

In the end, as long as we play like we did against Port in that last qtr then I will be happy

...and then in the words of Doris Day Que Sera Sera :-D

...should we do a Collingwood and start lining up for tickets for the GF already? Or start bitching about "there better be more tickets released for Carlton supporters for the GF"...

That was hilarious, the way they carried on in the first week of the finals - right before being smashed by the Bulldogs.

Oh and by the way, I've lost the lid... it's definitely staying off!!
