While I would have preferred one of the younger blokes initially, I think this is a good call.

It is a clean break from all the bad stuff of the past - a new player, a new captain, a new Carlton.

It says to those young blokes - look at this man - this is what you must aspire to be if you would dream to captain our club.

If someone had of asked me in September last year that Chris Judd would be the captain of Carlton in 2008, I would have laughed in their face and would not believe it for a second.

Well its February '08 and here is one of the all time modern day greatest footballers captaining the most successful team in the AFL.

Great choice, but still feel a bit for Stevo .. but Judd is clearly the best player and has captained before with plenty of experience.

Bluechick your not alone i feel that Judd should have been given a yr or so to settle in than made captain straight off the bat. Would have liked to see Stevo as captain

Loved Sticks comments in HUN (Age?) today about the club's history of appointing Captain's out of left field.

Barassi first yr at club, Sticks himself after one yr at the club as a 23 yr old. Guess what - two of the most influential Captains we've ever had and they both ushered in very successful eras.

We're Carlton because we dare to be different. Let's embrace this Judd appointment and rejoice in history about to repeat itself.

I honestly believe the decision was easy and not really even close.

Judd is the perfect choice. Stevens for me, even though he is a good player, is NOT a leader and with his injury he needs to just concentrate on playing.

For me I would of had Judd as Captain & Simpson as VC.

As I recall they only appointed Jezza as Playing Coach - he wasn't the appointed Captain Coach.

Anyway as I recall he was paid the same amount that they paid their only Premiership Coach - Allan Jeans and that is 7 cents in the dollar. :roll:

And these turds over at SS reckon we should use vomit bags as our club symbol. :roll:
