42. It is the answer to the ultimate question after all. Pretty apt if you ask me.

12 which would represent the 1.2 million he will get each year

Murphy's dad wore 5 at the Roys, so if Kennedy gets traded, give Murphy 5, then give Judd 3, and while you're at it sack Lance and give Blackwell 8, his dad's number.

(a) Why the hell should Murph have to give up his number?

(b) Why the hell would Judd care what number he's got anyway?

At least if he got 43 it'd save a lot of Mums the hassle of having to put a new number on junior's jumper.

I don't think Judd would be the kind of person to walk in to a club and start demanding things from people i.e. Murphs #3.

If we trade Kennedy, it'd make sense to give Judd #5.

The risk is too great to try and break the curse with Judd. Imagine if he followed on and lowered his game to McLaren, Martyn, Mansfield, Mitchell, Shine etc etc levels. We would be devastated! Retire the 10 forever.

By the way any chance of my avatar being changed to a montage of players to have worn #10?

My old man reckons that he has a reliable source (friend's friend's friend's friend's friend's friend of a player sort of thing) who informs him that Judd has asked Murph to give him the #3 jumper, and offered him some dough to do so. I think he's full of shit, so now there is a slab riding on this.

Do players really demand other players 'give up' numbers?

I know the media talk was that Ben Matthews told Plugger that 46 would look great on him but doubt it really happened...

Just can't see players who have played and prospered for years in team environments doing that...

Players learn at Carlton that it's what's on the front of the jumper and not the back that really counts.

ah my friend, I have had this same discussion many a night.
Warnie = 23
Jordan = 23
Lebron = 23
Grant Hill = 23
Jermaine Dye = 23
Michael Clarke = 23
the list goes on and on.

Warnie and a bunch of basketballers????? pppfffffffffft...
Real world sporting champions wear number 10...
Carlton champions wear all kinds of numbers....

Who the hell would want 23....????A bunch of american overhyped tall blokes and Warnie

haha, possibly the best athlete to ever play a team sport (Jordan)... overhyped!! Don't get my wrong, I can't stand basketball, but respect where respect is due!

You can also add Lebron James (#23) who is the heir apparant and a superstar.

Yeah but theyre not a patch on blokes like Pele and MAradonna when you talk about WORLD superstars....

Youre just talking about Americas overhyped number 2 sport with a bit of a cult following around the world in clone countries.. not a true world sport...

Yes, there is nothing like glorified lawn bowls to get the heart pumping.

A game for courageous young men throwing themselves to the ground at the earliest opportunity. The world sport is a con.
Enjoy.

Too right. Let's face it, both sports are shit. But when it comes to athletes, dominating their chosen skilled team sports, Jordan and Lebron are guns. Shame they don't play a real sport.

For starters 43 and 12 will be out of action for at least 12 months so there is no way he's getting either oif them. Murph has 3 and looks sensational in it. I like the look of 7, so upgrade Bentick to 5.

Another suggestion could be the Zamorano "+". When Ronaldo (Brazil) went to Inter, his number nine was occupied by Chilean Ivan Zamorano. They handed Ronaldo the No. 9 and gave Zamorano the number 18. If you looked closley at it, there was a little "+" between the 1 and the 8! Poor bugger!!!

Gee, some of you people, I mean really.

I am not suggesting Murphy HAS to give up #3, not at all. It would only be if the little tacker actually wanted to adopt his father's number.

No biggy.

Yeah i read that, but the club will want to retire it in his honour and Juddy will not want to wear Kouta's number. No. 7 will look sensational, The Dominator wore it, Rats wore it. Its a great midfields number.
