1. The details of my life are quite inconsequential.... Very well, where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low-grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a 15-year-old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize; he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes, he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament... My childhood was typical: summers in Rangoon... luge lessons... In the spring, we'd make meat helmets... When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds — pretty standard, really. At the age of 12, I received my first scribe. At the age of 14, a Zoroastrian named Wilma ritualistically shaved my testicles — there really is nothing like a shorn scrotum — it's quite breathtaking... I suggest you try it.

2. Dad went for Collingwood but I couldn't really understand why cause they were alway crap. So as a youngin' I just decided I would go for the Blues instead. It was the 80's so it was either that or the Hawks, and surely nobody voluntarily chooses a team with their colours.

Australian, (Irish/Welsh heritage..apparently a Prussian pops up somewhere also.)

I am a fourth generation Carlton supporter, (born and raised in Essendon*...grit required), my daughter- fifth generation. My great-grandfather was the true Carlton nut that set us all into Carlton worship. He played a couple of reserve games for South but was so mad Carlton he couldn't cope and quit. My dad remembers my him dragging him as a child to knock on Carlton players doors for autographs. My father is stroke material when the Blues are playing.

HELLAS OLE!! THEN STAMATO NA TRAGOUTHO POTE OLE!!!

Collingwood is so big they are filled with all sorts but the Bummers would have to be classified as mainly Italian fans when it comes to wogs.

thanks for thinking of me Gav, where do I start?
My grandfather on my dads side grew up in Perth and followed the blues over there, moved to Melbourne and the love affair continued - he was born in Perth and his father England.

My pops on my mums side was born in Leeds and moved to Glasgow - preferred following Rangers rather then any particular AFL team. His parents were born in the UK also.

Long time reader, first time poster...

1. Dutch

2. Pure luck. I was on a holiday in the winter of 1998, watching my first live televised AFL game. I asked my friend who he'd support. He said "the brown ones", so naturally I chose the Blue team. Someone told me that the Blues would have no chance of winning, since they were playing the reigning champions and weren't really going anywhere that year. Of course "my" Blues won, and I stuck with them eversince.

Although I didn't understand anything of the game (still don't probably, since I'am still shocked by some umpire decisions) I loved the little guy with number 21.

Looking it up in the Blueseum, it was Adelaide - Carlton round 16... means I'll have my ninth anniversary coming up!
