I can't think of words grand enough to describe Ken Hunter.....unbelievably courageous....183cm and 76 kg wringing wet but...a great player....
as good a pack mark as anyone who's ever played the game....I loved him as we all did....a once in a lifetime player like Dom and Jezza and Sticks
and Doull and Nick.........he's up there with the best Carlton players; and was selected in Carlton's Team of the Century.

These are just 3 great Ken Hunter marks.....his specialty was floating sideways across the front of a pack to take an impossible mark.

Just out of interest; can we name all of the players in this pic?

Unusually; there were no names subscribed with the pic and yes.....I know most of them too....but all of them?

I know the year/years it was taken..........I think!

Yep and I reckon the one on the right hand end of the back row may be Adam White.

The guy you reckon is Brittain is Alan Thorpe I reckon - the sleeves are a dead giveaway.

I reckon you're right....I just couldn't see Britts there.....and they're all players in the pic.....Thorpie wore 30 in those days.....Adam White was #42......
there are some great minds at work here working on these answers!......... :-D

Troy Bond's presence would have to make the year 1995 wouldn't it?

Definitely...I agree..but it's a strange pic in that .....no Harry.....no Sticks.....no Clape....no Dog....no De Iulio.....no Dean....no Hanna....no Heaver....no Sexton....no Diesel.....no Hogg.....no James Cook.....and sundry other fringe players like Rohan Welsh....even Stephen Oliver and Peter Turner.

Yep.
And it looks like Matthew Blagrove in the bottom row left.

Spot on I reckon with Blagrove.

Hamill doesnt seem to have any 'precense' there. you'd wonder how he was ever drafted given thats how he gets a game these days.

I bombed out on Lynn, thought it was Heaver too. Thats not Adam White in the back row and pretty sure he was #30. Definitely Alan Thorpe, not Brittain

I'd take a big guess and say the guy next to Ang is Mark McKenzie, a rookie listed player, but I think this was taken before the rookie list was even started.

Between Mitchell and Allan is Nicholson, was his name David? Could that be Daniel Marshall next to Ratts? Or Chris Jackson? Danny Morgan next to Thorpe? Think it may have been after his time actually, but the only redhead I could think of.

edit: White and Thorpe both wore #30 so they couldnt both be in that photo.

Thanks Brad....Matty Blagrove it is.

On Grand Final Day....September 30-1995; the Carlton List showed Thorpe wearing# 30; and Adam White #42.....although I know Adam wore that number (30) thru his senior career with us.

I agree re David Nicholson who wore # 37.

Marshall....Morgan and Jackson weren't on the Senior list at that time.

I hope we get to name them all!

Thanks Warby, didnt think it was White, but then again I dont remember White ever wearing #42 :)

How about Peter Turner next to Ratts then?
