Any chance we'd get band 1 compensation for Kreuzer this year ?

I'd be happy to ship off Kreuzer and Yarran at the end of the year, trade one of the picks for (assuming he would take less than what Kreuzer is asking for) Leunenberger and a lesser pick. Gives us a bit more room to negotiate the cap space, be flexible in what we can do at the trade table, and not compromising our draft position next year should our hand be forced with Silvagni and Rice.

Everyone's acting like Kreuzer is held together by magic tape... keep him.

Wouldn't be interested in giving up Yarran unless he can command a top 5 pick.

I don't mind him and been thrilled with how he's gone in his return.

With Hendo probably staying, Murphy/Gibbs off limits and talk of what he could possibly attract as a free agent - I think he's one of the few remaining options to better the list.

Not convinced you can have him, Casboult and Wood in the same team. Think a Leunenberger/Casboult duo with Wood as back up is workable on field, and gives us a little bit of an increase at the trade table and perhaps toward the TPP.

I think the TPP will be straightened out this off-season with the impending retirement and delisting of Judd, Carrazzo and Warnock.

That's got to be 1.3-1.5 million right there.

Weren't you suggesting a few weeks ago it'd be so tight we'd struggle to get Giles on the rookie list?

For squeezing out spots on the list for the main draft, not for wages

Kreuzer is worth pick 1-3 in this draft.

Look at the difference he has made to the side since returning-why would you trade him?
The players I would offer in preference order
Jamison, walker, casboult, gibbs

Leuenberger is a FA. IF you bring him in you will lose Kreuz compo.

Could still trade for him as per what happened with Monfries.

Likelihood we'd end up with more for Kreuzer than what they would for Leunenberger, so probably to their advantage that such a deal would occur.

If we finished second last and got pick 3 for Kreuz I'd want to slap myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming..... Then laugh all the way through the next 10 years.

In one draft we will have nailed the KP stars we so desperately require and have found impossible to find for 15 years

Besides Gibbs who's in the first year of a 5 year deal, what would you expect to get for the other three?

Kreuz is a unique player in the AFL.
To me it is unthinkable to have supported him through years of injury and pain at our club..without reaping the benefits for ourselves and for him.
He is one of the players who embody cfc spirit.
I reckon he is a must keep.
Yaz? Not so much any more.

I agree - I just don't think we'll get as much for Casboult, and nothing for Wood, ergo something has to go.

agree BG.

if kreuzer plays out there looking strong and healthy like he has, he's one of our first picked each week.

if, he gets hurt again, and another club wanna take a punt on his health for a 1st rounder ... we should probs cut our losses and give him a (hopefully) new lease of life with someone else's medical department guiding/ managing him because ours can't.

I agree. I was previously down on Kreuzer, but he's been terrific in his return, as much for his tap work as the effort at the contest. I think we should keep him.

Yarran I am torn on, but if we got a first round pick I would probably do it. On the basis that we aren't trading Lach. Although if the draft is as shallow as most are saying, I'm wondering if we're better to sit tight, take the early first and hope the later picks will accommodate Rice/SOSOS (and maybe a quality inclusion via the PSD pick we'll have).

With father sons and byrne sheehan..not too badly off for now.
I wonder if Yaz is injured a little?
Thus no running for now.

Krooz is about to be a family man and with that I reckon he'd look at all offer$ on the table.
If he brings band 1 compo via FA, it could very well suit both he and Carlton to make a move.
