Love BB and his band of merry men. BUT all we are doing (finally) is beating the teams that we should beat- instead of losing to those much better teams and dropping the games against sides around our level. All we are so far is an honest team that wont give you an inch. But there is no real brilliance yet- except in patches.

I agree Padre...but there is a certain satisfaction in that.

As a supporter I find it stabilising....what it's done for me personally is it has allowed me to make the 7 hour round trip to Melbourne knowing that we will have 22 players having a crack. I've traveled to Melbourne for the previous two rounds knowing what we were capable of and knowing we had a chance at victory and I haven't come away disappointed yet. I'd be going to the North game too but I have a very important function to attend.

Leaves him open to poaching with no contract.

Also means if he flowers up we won't have to fork out a year's pay (like our last three coaches).

Might be time for Trigg to put some paperwork in front our new bloke from Hawthorn.

Having been where we were as the Leagues laughing stock under Malthouse, I'll take this any day of the week right now.
All most of us really wanted from this year was to regain respect, and I think we've already achieved that in spades. Everything from hereon in is a bonus.

I like what Bolton has done so far, it's impossible not to, but I'm more excited about the development of our younger players. He's getting these results with an experienced 22 most weeks, but I'm hopeful there's some genuine development of our young players behind the scenes and they'll earn a call up as the season goes on. If that happens we'll have a strong platform for next year too.

True. Pity injuries have hindered us a bit in this area, although we have already seen that Weitering and C.Curnow can play. I'm sure we ll see a bit of Cuningham and Big McKay in the 2nd half of the year, and maybe even a glimpse of young SOJ at some stage.

i agree with you. The satisfaction that comes from finally winning the "winnable"games is great. Of course eventually our expectations go up and those winnable games become more and more frequent- and that is when the real test comes.

Very much this. Used to come over from Adelaide at least once a year with the family - or part of - but haven't made 'the journey' since the Elimination Final of 2013 mainly for not being able to guarantee getting what TBM is asking for.

It's a lot of time and money, to watch a team that is not committed. We've booked the West Coast game in July based on knowing that the chances of getting genuine effort is more likely than any time in the last few years. Whilst it would be a bonus to win, we'll go home satisfied if the effort is there.

exactly.

Love the fact he's always shifting praise to others be it MLG, Trigg, his assistants, the leadership group or the players.

MM's combative divide and conquer techniques were obviously successful in the past but had had it's day.

At no stage has he offered any excuses or lowered expectations. Even last night didn't want to dwell on he losses of Kruezer/Phillips and emphasised the need for others to step up.

Hasn't once stated publicly about the list being poor, or "introverted", hasn't singled out individuals for blame, or bought into outside issues that aren't priorities at this stage. eg COLA, umpiring, Academies, Free Agency etc

Obviously we know we are in a honeymoon period - similar to Port of 2013/2014 - and the true test comes later but you'd be hard pressed to fault anything so far.

Importantly he's bringing respect back to the football club from the greater public which we never had under obviously MM , but also Ratt's in his want to "bring the arrogance back" to Carlton.

Respect off field in the way he conducts himself, and also onfield with the way we've adapted to the modern game, and our ability to endure under diversity.

Even inspite of Slobbos shocking interview last night (discussed elsewhere -HE IS A BUFFOON) - 3 issues stood out in interview with Bolton and do I may say in every interview he partakes in - integrity , credibility and intelligence (both smarts but also EQ)

Don't like Slobbo gushing about us - last time he did that to was 2012 as a smokescreen for his beloved drug cheats - he can go @#$%&! himself.

Nope. I was at the Port end in a basic Carlton hoodie and a really really daggy carlton beanie with ear warmers....but its my favourite.

This was me a couple of years back on the telly giving Milne a bit of lip.....haha. Not the best angle :)
