Oh, and we have to have a big war first, don't we?

I think the moon has to be in a certain phase also?

I believe it has to be in the Seventh House....oh, Jupiter must align with Mars as well,

Malthouse isn't collingwood, and he wasn't richmond or West Coast or footscray. He's malthouse. He's either the best option for us right now, or he isn't.

Parkin was hawthorn, barassi was melbourne. The jumper is everything.

Seriously, put Milne in a carlton jumper and we'd love him. if eddie was carlton we'd love him. sheedy. hird. We'd love them all.

Let's be honest here... when Jack was on top of his game, we effen loved him, and he was a repulsive, arrogant, slug of a man. But he was OURS.

People can do what they like. But I'd rather an ex-collingwood/west coach/footscray coach who knows what he's doing, than an ex-carlton player who doesn't.

Seeing Malthouse in a carlton top won't pain me. Seeing carlton putting second-tier talents in top jobs, and seeing us seemingly doomed to mid-table status, does.

Spot on John.

Great post JohnM - couldn't agree more.

And if we end up with Cloke, those haters will be putting wing tattoos on their backs by round 5

I don't object to having Cloke because he's a numpty, I object because I think he's overrated and not worth the salary/conditions he is demanding.

Sounds like youre nearing your sunset years there bluedel... so a quick estimate of sums suggests they wont care....
You should have said youre eighteen and you and your 14 twins will be chucking it in.....
My sunset years are a long. long way away, Synbad and, as it happens, I have twins who can make up their own minds about what they want to do.
And yes, MadBlue, that IS my attitude, and I don't give a stuff about you
And you obviously don't give a stuff about the club if thats your attitude. I'll support the club until the day i die no matter who is playing for us and whos coaching us etc....I guess thats where we differ.

Fair weather supporter at its best, now take your ball and go home (and don't come back) :banghead:
Yes, we do differ, MadBlue.
The club is not always right.
The leaders are not always right.
I have not agreed with everything they've done and I'm not obliged to.
I can think for myself, unlike you.
The club reached a tipping point with Ratten and their decision is a tipping point for me.
If you don't agree, that's up to you.
Rest assured, if I take anyone's advice, it won't be yours.

It will be interesting to see what happens. At present Malthouse is regarded as a good coach. By the time we are finished with him he may be remembered as a shit coach.

Caro alluded to the possibility of Peter Sumich joining Malthouse at Carlton...

there is only one way i can accept that getting Malthouse is a good thing ... one way ... and only history will decide if its a good thing.

L. Matthews coached Collingwood to 1 premiership, left and proceeded to Coach the Lions to 4 Grand Finals for 3 Wins.

M. Malthouse coached Collingwood to 1 premiership .... if he can come to us and coach us to 4 grand finals and 3 Grand Final Wins i will be happy.

Otherwise i think Ratten has been shafted, and hopefully goes on and does wonderful things at Port, becuase i think he has held himself all year with nothing but professionalism!! i dont know what he has done to deserve the treatment he gets, he doesnt deserve it at all!! Im half inclined to think, if Malthouse wasnt available we wouldnt even be having this discussion ... trial by media of the highest order ...

We'll end up with Norm Dare or someone....hope you're all bloody well happy with yourselves..

Hey Mate

Please don't be under the illusion that any of the roonists on here have any influence over anything. They think that what they say matters when in reality it means nothing to anybody execpt them. The experienced people in football I listen to. The main protagonists on here I suspect have never even played the game. I know one is a dancer. He told me so. He told me he has never been involved in any football club as either a volunteer or paid person. So in my book there is no victory to them. They are meaningless to people like Ratten and people who actually put themselves on the line. Anyway mate. It will be what it is and we just have to make the most of it.

........and the boundary......why does he insist we chip it around the boundary??!!?? .........and whats with all these war stories?

I hear his family don't like that he is back coaching?..............they are worried about his health. He is worried they are worried and it is effecting his coaching and he is losing touch with the modern game.......set in his ways and refuses to change.

:banghead: :banghead:

.........just getting in early.

what would we think if malthouse delivered a flag within 3 years???
who do we want??
if you dont want malthouse, then who???
there is no chance that we would replace ratts with another rookie coach, would we??
i believe malthouse would be the ideal replacement, imo.
can we get cloke as well??
who will malthouse bring along??
very interesting times ahead, just hope its sorted before trade week.
i do feel for ratts, tough job.
