This is a big year for Kreuzer ... he really has to have a good season.

Why?

I think Carlton need him to play well ... we are a much better side when he does. The problem is (and I know he has just got over a major injury) he was down on form except for the first couple of games he played this year.

Agree. The issue may be is that we don't get the best out of them (Warnock as well) because they could both play 80% game time on the ball and that is where they are both suited. With Rowe in the side will we just play one of them? Very Doubtful.

One option may be to have both spend periods on the ball and at the stoppages. Warnock can take the ruck and Kruezer and lend his big body to blocking and supporting our mids, he is also a very good clearance player. It's an area that we are lacking?

I think also that Hampson must be hating the decision to get Rowe. If Rowe is a success ... Hampson's position in the team looks very tenuous ... unless Warnock or Kreuzer are injured or out of form.

The fact is we have have 1 too many ruckmen ... I reckon by the end of next season one of them will want to leave.

I think they will all stay on.
I don't expect Rowe to play every game.
I don't expect all of them to be ready to play every week.

The recruitment of Rowe will put the wind up Casboult who needs to fire next year to stay.

Our rucks plus our 2010 talls who are still teenagers won't be threatened by a pick 44 in a weak draft.

Duigan Jamison Laidler

Yarran Henderson Russel

Scotland Murphy Simpson

Walker Kreuzer Gibbs

Garlett Waite Betts

Warnock Judd Robinson

Int :Carrazzo Touhy Lucas Thornton

Eme: Armfield Ellard Bower

Unlucky: Hampson Curnow Joseph Davies(ratts loves him) Hope McLean shows something this year :|

Hopefully Mitchell Rowe Casboult McCarthy Watson can form a decent spine in the Magoos barring injury and push for a couple of senior games in 2012

Same with McInness , Carter and Kerr.

Really rate McInness hope he does well.

That starting 22 all fit and firing can push for a flag IMO

T-Bird is a no-brainer as best 22 AFAIC after his solid 2011

Surprised more ppl dont rate him not even as an emergency.

The threat to our ruckmen is not that they will have another ruckmen to contend with (Rowe). Ratten has made the comment regarding playing the 3 big fellas at the same time (one of them ... most likely Hampson as a permanent forward). If Rowe happens to succeed as a CHF and also given that Waite will also play forward then someone like Hampson might only get a game if one of Warnock or Kreuz is injured or out of form. Here in lies the problem for Hampson. I reckon he would have celebrated when Setanta left and cursed when Rowe was recruited.

On SEN yesterday Ratten said that, while tossing up the idea, 3 ruckmen would only be played if injury necessitated. He expects Rowe to be straight in. He put the challenge to Kreuzer to try to take the no.1 ruck role away from Warnock. Says Hammer might be unlucky often this year.

On top of that Collins will be tried at half back and Bower tried on the wing in the pre-season.

Hampson will stay. He had the chance to go this year given he was out of contract and signed for 3 years despite the probability of being "3rd banana".

Wouldn't mind us going a bit left of field and trying Henderson in the forward line as well through pre-season. A bit unorthodox I know, but crazier things have happened.

No harm in trying it...personally I'd prefer him to be practiced in both positions, forward and back. He's an effective backman, and he will only continue to learn by playing on the opposition forwards on how to lead and such. Bradshaw and Scott Lucas come to mind as players who could play both ends of the ground really well; no doubt a lot of their learning was done up one end of the ground then positively transferred to the other.

My best 22 from what I've heard and seen so far:

B: Laidler, Jamo, Russell
HB: Yazz, Hendo, Duigan
C: Scotland, Gibbs, Simmo
HF: Garlett, Kreuze, Robinson
F: Betts, Waite, Walker
R: Warnock, Murph, Judd
I/C: Lucas, Ellard, Joseph, Armfield

Strong back ups that will push these guys:
B:Touhy
HB: Bower
C: Carazzo
HF: Thornton
F: Mitchell or Rowe (hopefully)
R: Hampson
I/C: Curnow

The great thing is that we have a strong player pushing for each of the line positions. With the exception of McLean, I am also very happy with the other 11 senior players on our list! We will win a flag in 2012 mark my words!

I'm just a tad excited...
