The Stocker decision is not a great surprise and doesn't warrant the amount of attention it is getting.

The biggest scandal is that O'Brien got a two year deal.

Sleeps with the light on, a poor kick/decision maker....an outside player with little hurt factor, first to run over and act all tough whenever there's a scuffle but whenever he's required to stand under a high ball he generally shits himself.

Staggering decision.

Clearly the club has different expectations and goals to some of the supporters.

Quote:
“Lochie’s work rate this year has seen him rewarded for effort with some strong on-field performances,” Austin said.

“It’s not easy solidifying your spot in that midfield group, but Lochie has proven that he can play his role and has become a vital member of the side.

“The potential that Lochie has shown this season has been really promising and he’ll continue to put in the work over the next two years to build himself into a well-rounded player at the elite level".

A 'vital member of the side' doesn't get dropped 3 times this season.
VFL player at best and that's My opinion

I have my reservations about LOB also, Effes, but one thing he is not is a poor kick.

I think it's a real credit to him that he has removed the pick and choose when to go aspect of his game this year. Unfortunately he still has the pick and choose when to be an excellent or horrific kick aspect of this game that needs smoothing out.

It would appear that SOS was good at trading and doing the deals but so not so good at picking draft talent.

And a coach that lasts 10 years to make said recruiter look good.

Stocker was supposedly the 6th best player in his draft......

Dow was the 3rd. SPS was the 5th.

Are we talking talent or attitude?

I love Ed, but at 33 with a broken down body, this is a waste of a spot.
By round 18, I would have been happy to let Setterfield go but his last few games shows he still has a lot to offer. He should have been signed first

If he's on minimum wage and there for a "support and mentor" role then ok.

We've seen what happens when you remove experienced heads from other clubs prematurely.

He's the only player we have over 30, right?

Carlton (SOS?) claimed to have rated Stocker at #6 and had rated Walsh at #1. So which two out of Lukosius, Rankine, M King, Rozee, B King and Bailey Smith did they rate behind Stocker?

SOS as a recruiter was very patchy.
Plowman at 3, Setters at 5. Dow, Stocker.

But he got us Harry/Charlie and TDK
