I can see us just giving Geelong a leg up with a Kennedy trade to go with their Smith acquisition. Then we’ll all sit here and wonder how they do it? Well when you have clubs like us, it’s not that hard!!!

So now that we have broadcast we are getting rid of these contracted players. We will get nothing for them.

We are so clever. While i understand these players being traded, i am worried about who the replacements will be.

If we got something half decent for Kennedy I wouldn't have a problem trading him

so far there's no real names being told to look elsewhere that surprise me - so we're being ruthless. we're gonna break a few eggs to make our omelette.

agree about the coaches. hansen better be under the gun. our forward structure and mid disposal and F50 entry is all beyond suspect too. so everyone needs the blowtorch on them this summer.

Apparently Owies and Young also free to consider other clubs.

Well Owies is out of contract and has not yet been offered one so he can do whatever he likes.
This is madness about Kennedy. From all accounts he is pretty popular within the group so this may not down too well with some of his teammates. I think he is also sitting on 99 Carlton games.
Sounds like either the salary cap is a mess or Voss is getting ruthless.

Everyone should be on the table except:

Cripps
Curnow
McKay
TDK
Weitering

We've shown we aren't good enough and a safe boring offseason of Campo's sons, some kid with pick 11 and a Nick Haynes isn't going to get it done.

I agree we need to be this ruthless with the off field appointments as well.

Don't they have heaps of small forwards already?

I like all of Kennedy Hewitt Cerra and Cripps. But they are all one paced mids. They cannot all play together. Kennedy is odd man out then so be it.

Please, for the love of God, no more trading first round picks for half backs.

It's a shame that I have zero confidence that we'll get this right

Of the three- Ok with Carroll and Lewis Young exploring options.
I hope the Blues keep Kennedy.
Kennedy should not be traded. Injuries are a factor.
He offers versatility- even as a relief ruckman - which is obviously very important with ruckmen getting injured all the time. So hence less time Cripps doing it.
Can play forward and mark it.
He kicked 16 goals.. a fair bit more than Motlop, Fantasia etc.
He offers high quality tackling & pressure
He offers ability to impact games.. eg rated 3rd best vs Giants at Marvel.
eg 400 m gained and a goal vs Geelong.
Impacted more games than most this year.
Only decent player in debacle vs Hawthorn.

Of the three forwards - Motlop, Fantasia and Owies....
You obviously keep Owies. He is a far superior forward than those two. I don't get the logic of it at all.

You keep Kennedy - versatility. If it is out of Cerra or Kennedy - you keep Kennedy. Cerra - you look at last season - he didn't impact in any final and he often got low possession totals throughout season statistically he rates as a below average midfielder....17,20 etc.

You keep Owies. Logic. He's kicked over 30 goals. Where are those goals going to come from? Fantasia? Give me a break.
Seems like madness to me.

I like Kennedy but as a mid has Lord already gone past him as for ruck duties surely that will go to JSOS.

Owies I also like posters saying he is better than Durdin and Motlop but does the club think Moir can fill this role. I don't see it myself but maybe a good preseason might help

As for Young he is softest big man in the game and not to many teams are playing 2 KPF and Houston and Haynes are a million times better.
Houston is a 2 time AA those saying he is not worth pick 11 are dreaming.

Sam Durdin will be cut I can't see how he stays there is no room for a Scott Carson type of AFL list.

I can see the thought process although it might seem harsh

I don't have a problem with the mooted list calls in theory but as others have said we seem to be changing directions all of a sudden which makes you think the club will be short changed or completely redact it up.

I still get the chills from moving on kris massie ( a bit of a flower and not a superstar) for hamstring eccles.

it sure looks like it. it'll be exciting to see where we're at heading into the new year.

looks like voss is coaching for his career, and in doing so, he's making the calls. he's had 3 years here of not knowing what his best 22 is and what the winning balance looks like. he's been playing guys out of position, been tinkering with lineups for 3 years - and tbh, he's been doing it bcos our list is a bit of a mess. a mess in the fact there's so much replication throughout it, and now it's become obvious after season '24 - we have some glaring deficiencies.

looks like voss is putting his stake in the ground, and he'll either die on it, or thrive on it. but at least he's doing something.

kennedy is great, but hewett is a better mid, and kennedy is too slow/ unexplosive to really impact around the ground. which is not a bad thing, but in a team of 1-paced players with no explosion - we need to start balancing this list out if we're to really compete for a flag.

good see something happening. for better or for worse, we're trying.

The nervous nellies are out and about.
Let’s see how it plays out.
Like Kennedy too and haven’t enjoyed seeing him being mishandled, with Vossy putting the cherry on top at the Gabba.
But we’ve got shake things up, rattle the tree a bit and,
heaven forbid, create some opportunities for younger players - something sorely lacking, apart from Cowan getting a crack in the backline and Ollie.
The wheels are in motion.
Earn your keep young Curly.
