If Bolton is the real deal he must strike early at the heart of the issue. The willingness to compete and put your mind and body on the line.

Too many of our previous rebuilds have ignored soft efforts of certain players due to their skills or seniority or draft number.

Bolton cannot let the likes of Gibbs Kreuzer Everitt Boekhorst and a few others set the wrong example again for the new kids.

Forget the scoreboard, set the standards first.

No dropping them means not the real deal?

Who will he replace them with though?

Just a question

He is clearly trying to balance the ledger with his Hawks record of 5-0.... so he has to lose the first 5 with us before flicking the switch and dominating!

I like the way he approached the win. Nothing too emotional but an acknowledgement that a win is important.

Now to get a bit more talent in the door for him to work with.

He's got to get the forward coach to sort out the forward setup.

If you promote Jones, you got to back him in by giving him his space to work in and not have Levi and Kreuzer getting in the way.

And he was dealing with 2 on 1 all game . So made it hard for him to get into the game . He was trying really hard to make sure the ball came to ground in those contests , but you don't usually get noticed for that stuff.

Seemed justifiably annoyed during the post-Essendon game press conference. He wasn't his sparky self that's for sure.

I thought that as well. Maybe we let go of a few team messages in order to win

Agreed. I thought it was just frustration at our failure to take chances and put the score on the board. Said 'we have a knack of making the simple very hard' multiple times.
