BRENDAN Bolton and Stewart Dew are official candidates for Carlton’s vacant coaching role despite John Barker’s strong favouritism.

Barker is believed to have had an informal discussion with Carlton about his coaching future on Tuesday as the club moves closer to its formal coaching interviews.

Fremantle has already confirmed Fremantle assistant coach Simon Lloyd is in the mix after it was contacted by the Blues to gauge his interest.

So we are keeping Buttifant. So much for a full review and start.

So many injuries since he has been there, and we don't run out games like we used to.

Well there you go, we could end up with Barker and Buttifant.

Business as usual just with shuffled chairs.

We need freshness, and other ideas, so I hope it's not the case.

I read that as Buttifant is thee until they find someone else.

Like the SOS /Rogers situation.

Hope so, but it specifically says he is going to be there in 2016. Guess we can't afford to pay him out, considering it is also said we are going to make a massive loss this year too.

How long was Buttifant contracted for then, 3 years?

Who knows.

Might take another decade to get over the Malthousing we've suffered.

He has certainly left his nasty skid mark that's for sure. Daisy, Malthouse the gifts that keep on on giving. Not to mention pissing off all our leading goal kickers.

Luckily we got rid of him before we lost some young guys ie Graham, Bucks and Holman.

Geez..........

Daisy is the one that really annoys me. The question I have is how much influence did he have in the selections of Jones, Dick, Tutt, Boekhurst?

Why aren't Docherty, Everitt, Jaksch & Whiley included?

I am not sure why people think it is the board's fault if the team isn't performing. Boards of any company just steer the ship. To me, the board is responsible to make sure the a good football department is in place (i.e. coaches, recruitment, etc) then get on with running the CFC business. Their role is to sort out stadium deals, find sponsorship, balance the finances, etc. Judge the board on that not on the on-field performance. They should be involved in sackings when things go awry but our biggest problem has been recruitment and development. I do not think you can dump that on the board.

Sorry john the board is responsible for the football dept.

That means they've been shit for 15 years.
