Is Thornton a mute? Would like to hear him sob to the press and explain his reasons. You know, much like Aka.

Nobody wants to hear this jerkoff McSonOfABitch speak.

Geez...
Pagan: We want THornton at our club....
McConville: Brett will be at the Hawks next year or he'll go into the PSD he will not be at Carlton...

What does this spell...our worst nighmare...If we lose Thornton for nothing because the club is to stubborn to trade him...there will be a massive backlash

I think many would rather we get nothing and don't give him to the Hawks than trade him to the Hawks for an average deal

Absolutely, if we accept a crap deal for Thornton, then in future years in similar situations clubs will keep trying it on. If we show that we mean business, we'll at least keep other clubs honest in the future.

What the fk do you think we should do, they probably offered pick 100, Pagan is spot on, piss off unless you are going to play ball. All these clubs think we should just lay down and take what they offer , they are not the AFL, If his manager wants to be a smart arse and Thornton cannot make up his own mind, re draft the prick in the PSD and let him rot in the bullants seconds. See what his manager says then. @#$%&! him.!!!

FFS. Is it possible that McCockville and Felchen are one and same?

That's the right thing to say either way.

Intersting to see the differences in style.
Paul Roos when asked if they could get Spida in the PSD, that he is confident they could but don't want to cos they want to do the right thing by all concerned inc Hawks and want to deal with the Hawks again in the future.
Thornton and the Dawks are talking about going to the PSD if necessary.

Paul Roos is a class indivdual.

Easy for Roos to say when they are doing the offering ... would he be saying the same thing if the shoe was on the other foot and he was being asked to accept what may be a sub-standard offer?

I dont follow what you are saying.
I compared Roos to the Dawks. He wants to do a fair trade. The Dawks and T-Diick want to screw us

*Edit*. Now I understand. I wasnt comparing Pagan to Roos.
Those 2 points were seperate

Spider mate word is that we (Dennis and Co) went in there and within the 30 seconds we met with the Hawks we said we are not dealing with you vis a vis T-Bird and that was it....

If the Hawks want him bad enough they need to come up with a suitable offer or else next highest bidder. It seems clear Bret doesn't want to be at the blues next year.

Ok, does this deal seem feasible?

Everitt > Swans
Pick 15 > Hawks

TBird + 4th rounder > Hawks
Pick 15 + Pick 24 > Carlton

What would people think of a trade along these lines with the dees?
Carlton
Lose: Thornton and pick 17 or pick 19
Gain: Brad Miller and pick 12 (I think that's Melbourne's first draft pick)

sorry buzz...i read you wrong...
i thought you were suggesting that the Swans and Hawks are part of a good scenario so both parties are obviously fine operators.
I incorrectly inferred that as the Hawks and Blues relationship is ordinary that you were suggesting that we are the weakest link ... when indeed you meant the Hawks.
my bad.

He may look friendly, but if you out mark him in a contest he goes bonkers. Heard he does the same when misses the toilet bowl and pisses on the floor. He's a strange one.

We love you, Thornton.

Yeah, my wording could have been better. looking back it was confusing.

The Dawks are pricks. flower heroes. I say the Tigers are looking for a KPP. Offer them T -prick rather then the pretyy boys at waverly. They obviously have worded him up to threaten the PSD.
i saw his manager on GF day. Should have pushed him down the stairs

We will trade 80% of our list for a decent draft pick. No second thoughts, on your way son.
But when a players wants to leave by choice, he's scum of the earth.

Loyalty cant go one way.
The onus is on us to create an environment where players want to stay.
Blaming the players is avoiding the issue IMHO.

but it's only the old guys from the Parkin/Elliott era who hate our coach. I don't see the young guys complaining.

100% correct BV. This is a problem that needs addressing. Make no mistake.

However, it doesn't give T-Bird the license to leave when the club is at it's lowest ebb - surely he thinks he'll cop a lot of stick from our supporters and club for lacking character.

If he ends up at the dawks, I'm sure Fev will let him know what we think of him, and will towel him up.

It is how they choose to leave. If Thornton, tells the Hawks he wants to leave but makes sure Carlton is adequately compensated, then yes I have less an issue with Thornton. This is what J Carr did for Port. If he says screw Carlton, I don't care what they get, and I will enter the PSD and ensure they get nothing, which is what seems to be happening then he is a tosser.
