It is an important thing for Pagan to say...

at the very least it makes sure that the Hawks know they have to give up as much as possible to get Thornton. Required players don't go for third round draft picks.

I'm not in the Pagan fan club at all - but am very glad he's drawn a line in the sand

That's the right thing to say either way.

Intersting to see the differences in style.
Paul Roos when asked if they could get Spida in the PSD, that he is confident they could but don't want to cos they want to do the right thing by all concerned inc Hawks and want to deal with the Hawks again in the future.
Thornton and the Dawks are talking about going to the PSD if necessary.

Paul Roos is a class indivdual.

Easy for Roos to say when they are doing the offering ... would he be saying the same thing if the shoe was on the other foot and he was being asked to accept what may be a sub-standard offer?

Damn straight he is easily in the 10 best players of the 2001 draft in which he was overlooked.

Dorks are looking for a steal.

Kennett doesn't care about collateral damage, even if it ends up being Thornton's reputation.

Thornton is a required player, but they rate him below 22 other draftees yet to play an AFL game.

Good luck Thornton...if that's what you're looking at calling home.

Thornton, you've just become a Dorks pawn. Hay was it last year.

Agree!! Dorks say 'We'll pay you $1m over 3 years yet we're not prepared to give anything up to get you.'

Bring in the mediator or tell them to @#$%&! off!! Surely anyone with half a brain will see that those two facts just don't add up. They'll get a worse trade name than the bummers and wobbles.

Are you saying they didn't even offer pick 22?

Nice one Denis :-D

Maybe they will stop trying to screw us and come up with something decent. We will find out how badly they want Thornton now. 8)

Looks like the Bullants Reserves have been promised some Key Position Player to bolster their shaky Key Defensive Posts.

Let me guess. Carlton being unreasonable, and player is prepared to go in the PSD. Yadda yadda yadda.

Pretty much spot on. :P

I think we will trade him. According to his manager there is no chance of Carlton convincing him to stay.

Pretty much.

When asked about how Carlton have been to deal with he said "I'm not prepared to comment on that". Also said there was no chance Thornton would be at Carlton next year even if Carlton increased their offer.

Great! Then if you think that highly of your client and you want the big bucks - then tell hawthorn to go get another pick in the top 25 and give that to us along with their pick 24 and they have a deal.

I think McConnville just made the list.

Somewhere between contents of cesspit and David Allison (with David Allison being the bottom of the scale.

Is Thornton a mute? Would like to hear him sob to the press and explain his reasons. You know, much like Aka.

Nobody wants to hear this jerkoff McSonOfABitch speak.
