That's what I thought too CK. I remember him and Waite being interviewed a couple of years ago on the radio show and they both said they were Essendon* supporters as kids.

IIRC there was a picture/video of Thornton as a teenager in the crowd at an Essendon* Carlton match leaning over the fence and abusing one of the Carlton players.
