So where the hell is the one I suggested?!

COME ON! Pull your fingers out!

I can't be bothered doing it, and what's more, i'm sure someone would do it better than I would anyway.

OK, I've been thinking about this.

A lot.

And I've changed my opinion.

I know. Shocking.

Here's the thing: We're going to be forced to have a jumper for "clash" matches, of which there are perhaps 4 in a season.

I think IF we have to produce one - and it looks like we will - then we have to make it totally different.

I mean TOTALLY.

Hell, let's go for a deep orange jumper with navy blue monogram and number, navy blue shorts with orange detail. The monogram has to be bigger and bolder, more in the style of the 1927-1997 one, but bigger again. But not huuuuuuge like the massive one.

Can someone mock that up for me?

How's this?

I think having an alternate playing strip means having a top which is a different colour. Not the maority which is navy blue with a touch of silver/ orange.

Look at the biggest soccer clubs in Europe!

Manchester united "red Devils" - Away top is either blue, white, or black
AC Milan "red and Black" - Away Top White
Juventus "Black and White" - Last seasons away top PINK

I say we move with the times and get a top with maybe vertical stripes with maybe baby blue with navy, and with the crest still there of course

I would say that we clash with any side who has a predominantly dark back.

Melbourne and St Kilda are the worst two for mine (though that's been avoided by those teams wearing red/yellow jumpers), but Collingwood, Essendon*, Richmond can also be tough. West Coast have played us a couple of times in their darker jumper.

I reckon at the dome in particular it is needed, because the light in there seems to produce a very hazy sort of visibility.

Though I may just be going blind, guess I'd listened to my old man.

Clash jumpers would only be needed when a colour clash occurs, and the away team would wear it obviously.

It must happen.

If that's the case, the guys at this site www.footyjumpers.com would probably appreciate an email. :)

I'd be up for it as well. And we'd get all those crazy Dutch fans on side as well. You're a clever clogs KK.

That's a winner, except I'd have the bold monogram in white with a navy outline.

I wish the Afl would cut the crap....
The away strip has nothing to do with clashes.
it's an alternate strip..that's it!

I don't care, but it infuriates me that teams have changed their strip to one that calshes with another team with the AFL consent and thenm the AFL says something has to be done about it!?! Give me a break

Remind me again how we clash with the Eagles?

...oh that's right, they changed theirs to "bad panel van art" and now this is a problem for.... Carlton? Give me a @#$%&! break

Just wondering without knowing....

Personally, I believe that the outcry over apparent jumper 'clases' is exaggerated. I don't reckon that my sight is particularly better than anyone else's but I've rarely had a problem distinguishing one team from another. One team is always wearing white shorts or there is something obvious as part of the jumper to distinguish between playing uniforms. Admittedly I'd prefer it if we just stuck with our navy blue anyway and let other clubs decide whether or not they want to have alternative strips. However I've genuinely never found supposed jumper 'clashes' as the problem that it's made out to be.
