Any chance we can remain totally focus for a full game.

Can't stand watching players carry on after a goal early in the game, some teams can get away with it as they generally play out 4 qtrs. Watching Geelong and the Dogs tonight, a quick high 5 after a goal and then reset. We kick a goal and we carry on as we have kicked the winning goal in a GF. Any chance we can get the killer instinct and not let teams back in.

We are so insipid and weak mentally. Opposition must love playing against us, it's so obvious, put the heat on and they will crumble.

I enjoyed watching Cameron at the Cats today kick 7, a small celebration and then refocused, our forwards would still be running around he boundary pulling at the jumper. Professionalism Vs Amateurs.

Lets face it Heeney and Warner were the only 2 players we had to stop. It was so obvious from half way through the 2nd qtr, no one else was going to win the game for them - no other Swan was a threat.

Piss weak.

Curnow has the celebration after a first quarter goal at epic FIGJAM levels.

Haven't watched the game yet - probably better I don't.

But I've read enough about, and seen the vision of, Boyd's clobbering. You don't have to get yourself suspended in retaliation but retaliate you must. WTF?

An angry take from a non-Carlton footy fan of old (and a generally top writer) that the players should be made to read:

Pretty much even for every other source.
We didn't make them pay for turnovers in the last, they did.. pretty much that was it

Great article and so f##kin true
The bit that says .... "Currently, there is no fear of this Carlton Football Club, at all" ...... I would add "for the past couple of decades ...."

Thanks Snap, that's the link I tried to post in another thread, but couldn't.

That article should be tattooed on the eyeballs of every listed player. Basically calls them soft and cowardly

I really wonder what our players think of themselves, and how they are viewed by other teams

Watched the replay a couple of times.

What you don't see on TV:
Conditions were very slippery
Game was ugly for and from both sides
Players tried their guts out

What I factored in my summary of performance:
Both teams were a chance with 9 minutes left on the clock
Umpires were a disgrace. That's normal at SCG. Keep fans happy.
Swans scored 5 umpire influenced goals
We kicked 5 OOF having shots at goal
If Youngs mark was paid a mark as it should have been we would have had a 3 goal buffer.
Instead ball went to other side and scores became 9 point diff

If the finger is pointed at Austin's list having no depth, and Vossy is forced to play VFL players like Evans, Motlop, White, Pittonet, Young and developing players like Lord, Binns, Carroll out of desperation then its obvious we need our best team playing to give us a chance to win. Losing our CHB Silvagni at half time, and forced to play injured Cripps and a half fit Pittonet (who hasn't played a full VFL game, in the ruck, the odds were stacked against us. Umpires killed us after that wrongly called free against Gov that led to a goal to Heeney, then 16 pint loss at the SCG wasn't as bad as the disappointment of losing a game we had control of for 3 quarters.

Our best from our best is good enough to win. We had 11 out injured. Our season has been hit with 4 season ending injuries to Newman, Smith and Kemp. Every game we have had more than 11 out injured we have lost. Every game we have had 8 or less out injured we have won.

Plenty of realistic excuses for the loss. Boys tried hard. Against all the abovementioned odds to win, the chance to win was killed off by our skills in the end. 5 shots at goal out on a full. Let that sink in. The game was lost with our last kick in the forward line. Sound familiar?

For a team who doesnt bat too deep, the following shows the gaps created by injury to our best 23"

B: Haynes Weitering Newman
HB: o.Hollands Silvagni Saad

C: Acres Cripps Cottrell
FOLL De Koning Hewett Cerra

HF E. Hollands McKay Walsh
F: Williams Curnow Kemp

IC: Smith Boyd Cincotta Fantasia

E: Docherty Cowan Fogarty

Boyd was sub as he's being eased back from injury. Played 2 good games in the VFL and was sub on Friday night.

WE haven't got the depth to cover all those injured.

Cripps came off hobbling and had his ankle strapped in the 2nd quarter

WE lost by 16 points at a ground that is a fortress for our opponent with umpires giving them the nod for any 50-50 decisions.
Repeat we kicked 5 OOF having shots at goal....not including McKays first shot at goals that went OOB.

Yes, it’s been slow as Marc Pittonet the last few weeks, maybe something to do with the out of date cert?

597 just now but the only registered users listed are me, three bots and Syd and I’ve often suspected he might be a bot too so maybe just one real person.

Obviously a lot of crawlers hitting site.

Has something changed?

I’ll vouch for Syd being a real person, met up with him (and Bondi) at the game last Friday.

Yes TC is really slow, but not as slow as Pittonet. At least the TC page refreshes. After half time, Pittonet was stale and snail trail slow.

No doubt about it Bondi the boys did there utmost . Pointing out the injuries confirms my point re bottom six . In reality they are our second bottom six and that makes it extra hard .

Nice to see you blokes there.

I know Sydney Blue was scathing Carlton at half time, but the game was a slog. So many slip ups. So many skill deficiencies. So many mistakes. Both teams. Bad umpiring. It was ugly.

I don't know how anyone can take anything out from that game, other than Motlop and Evans are not quick small forwards, Pittonet isnt fit for AFL and our developing players are developing in the AFL instead of the VFL. They play whilst Williams, Fantasia, Cottrell and TDK are sidelined. Hang on, Vossy like to play 5 small forwards.

I agree with most, except Austin part. We delisted ‘all’ our depth in one year and drafted kids.
How do people expect to have AFL depth by doing such a move? Austin did what he was told to do.
Nothing more or less. Huge mistake to move all these players on in one go.

Ps. Most complaining about our depth, where happy for such changes.
