I'm expecting the following 'Test' candidates to be passed fit.

Charlie FF
Saad HBF
Fantasia HF
Durdin FP

Not sure what the hold up is with Marchbank, but it will have been 3 weeks since he was concussed. Expect him available to, not that I think he will be selected.

I hope Durdin can play with the same gusto and energy he did vs Weaglles. He was hot hot hot.

If he does play, given Cottrell is out for the season, Fantasia may be selected to play that role and that may mean Motlop misses

OUT: McGovern injured, Moir and Binns/ Motlop

They will be hellbent on winning, let's not kid ourselves. It's going to be tough.

We need a tough hit out before Finals.
We find out if we have turned the corner.

I expect we will be coming out with more fire in the belly and need to win more than the Saints.

Bring it on. Its just what we need.

A test to me implies a player looks to have overcome their injury but needs to be tested and passed fit in the last training session before the game, to play after missing from injury.

If he passes the test, he plays, if form warrants selection.

Its been that way all year. Can't see that changing.

As for McGovern, he hasn't missed because of injury but experienced tightness. He's more likely to miss out after being tested given hasn't missed imo.

On the CFC website it was reported that Fantasia passed his fitness test last Thursday, but they chose to play safe and not select him for the trip to WA.

Charlie to kick 11 and win the Coleman after Hogan is held goaless by Jones.

gws/ dogs is the game. we need giants to get up here. that means port have to win for a top 2 finish, and eliminates freo in the process.

i'd be resting whoever went off from the hawks game. imagine they come back and go off again injured. and we're men down, while the kids are fresh and hungry and competent and watching from the stands? no thanks

i think we can beat the saints with the team that travelled to WCE. and if we can't, we probably don't deserve september. however if we do beat them, morale is high, momentum is with us & competition for spots is back on after the bye. maybe go on a run towards another prelim. we know our best (with our best mobile line up) is as good as anyone.

This. You would be pissed off if you were one of the fit, hungry kids and you were dropped for some half fit more experienced player.

not at all ... if we want to entertain such concepts like prelims and gf's - we have to dial up the heat (that we know we're capable of) and beat the saints handily on sunday.

if we can't, we don't belong in september.

Whilst the Saints are definitely playing some decent footy, their formline isn't as spectacular as it appears:

Beat Sydney by 2 points when the Swans were in their slump
Lost by 32 to Adelaide away
Beat West Coast at home by 72 - Big whoop
Beat Essendon* by 53 - Big whoop x2
Lost to Brisbane at Marvel by 85
Beat Richmond by 48 - Big whoop x3
Beat the Cats last week - Good win, but, as we showed, the Cats aren't that good and are a false top 4 side

They haven't beaten any of the in form sides in their run and got trounced by one.

Yeh but St Kilda are always jealous of Carlton and really work themselves up for these games. They have wanted to be us since the 80's. They love our sloppy seconds, they get a kick out of it.

They would love nothing more than to kick us out of the 8.

I hope we are up for this game and show more desperation as we have a lot to lose. They dont.

I hate that football club with a passion and would not even flinch if they and North melbourne folded. Wish they folded instead of Fitzroy.

Just smash them. I'm so over their supporters and hopefully angry Clarko takes care of Hawthorn and their smugness.

StK are playing much better than they were and some might even say are playing well. But they’re not a Premiership contender. If we have any hope of defying history to win a flag from where we are now, then we simply must be able to beat StK on Sunday.
If not, then we are certainly not good enough to win 4 weeks in a row against the best teams with the high likelihood of having to travel more than once.
If we bring the same ingredients as last week (esp Clearance dominance, high pressure/intensity, and lowering our eyes to hit the best option forward) then we should win.
If we lose but sneak in due to Fremantle losing, I will be hoping for an elimination final win, but I won’t be confident we are good enough to go much further than that.

I heard that fat richmond cauliflower on the Front Bar last night say that we hadn't won a final round game since 2013 and though surely that isn't true. Oh my hat. Just going through league tables and having horror flashbacks. How's your Thursday going?

I said may the best team win to a St.Kilda supporter.
His response - no, the Saints will win!
So after such a response, I don't want to be fair minded anymore!
Let's smash them!
