Long bow Doc, if you are referring to the Cottrell mark/goal. Freo isn't saying that Fyfe touched the ball, they are saying it flicked Ash's hair on the way past. Tough to get a definitive call on that.

Yes to all of the rest.

Massive deflection off of Aish's arm. Not a little snicko. It's ending up at second slip. The footage is out there. Four umpires and they all miss it? The game is a farce.

Vossy knew what to expect from Longmires team and planned for it.

No way was Vossy was outcoached. Vossy did his homework and knew what Freos game was all about.

Vossy coached his team to handle Freos game plan and watch out for their sling shot.

The margin was always manageable. We managed Freo's defensive game very well.

We missed more chances than Freo did, and Freo getting rub of the green wasn't too telling.
Free kicks in front of goal are unacceptable, part of the footy landscape and must erase from our game.

We won. That's all you need to remember.

We miss Walshy's class and break away speed. That will come.

Strange to see the opposition rucks both named in their team's best. So who won, who lost?
Loved TDK's energy.

Weitering was our best. Crippas desire to win the game in last 10 minutes was the telling factor for our come from behind win.
I love the running small backs Saad William and Boyd. What a group of gutsy runners.

Without Charlies 3 goals, we dont win. Great team effort. I thought we were disciplined and didnt get frustrated by Freo's game.

This week Cottrell got reward for all the selfless running he gives the team. For his detractors, his game hasn't changed from last week or the week before etc.

Next the Crows.

Go Blues

Another key moment was Saad getting the barest of toe pokes as he was losing possession which pushed the ball out of congestion and I’m pretty sure we took it away from there. (I’ll have to watch the replay but it was indicative of our will to win)

I actually enjoyed the arm wrestle.

WE played against a different style of game than previous 3 games. It was a different way to win.

This. I don’t get the negativity.

The game panned out EXACTLY as I predicted pre-game and mentioned at quarter time at the ground.

It wasn’t one for the time capsule, but, the game was a sensational contest with high pressure.

We aren’t always going to win every game playing free-flowing footy for 4 quarters and racking up 10 goal margins. I don’t get why some of our fans feel entitled to this?

I’m not saying we don’t have holes, there’s plenty to work on and some players IMO right now getting a game aren’t best 23, but how about we start to respect the boys a bit more and also the opposition.

Because the talent that has come into the club is designed to play free-flowing footy. That stuff that Freo forced us into yesterday and for four quarters played exclusively on their terms, won't get you far in finals against better sides (who actually take advantage of a dominant midfield and SOG).

Doc go to the 1 min mark of the video. No defection of Ash that I can see. Have you seen an angle from another camera that is definitive? Can you post a link please.

Sounds about right to me.
Durdin on thin ice and likely to be replaced when Motlop returns.

Can't get the link to work. But the AFL has already come out and said a mistake was made.

Durdin had 7 tackles inside our forward 50

Whether or not it was a mistake, it was one of many. We did what winners do and got the job done. 16 of our last 18 games. Go blues!

Yeah , who gives a shit . Well said Menz . You could give about half a dozen blatant free kicks to us that they completely ignored but so what , it happens . You win some you lose some .

They've said it's a mistake.
They've also said the dissent call was 100% there and wouldn't repeat what was said. So it clearly was more than a suggestion to visit Specsavers.

agreed ...

i thought the Acres free kick was the worst of the lot .. he actually handballed it .. unless the rule has changed so that it must go to a team mate, that was a bigger howler IMO.

the "touched" was barely able to be recognized in game, forget all this slow mo, replay etc.. umps dont have that when they are making the decision, as for dissent free kick. i appluad the umpire for making the call to be honest. Massive.

6 (or 7) goals to freo, sounds expensive, but largely think most where there ...

good side freo, thought they played really well, and didnt allow us to play our game at all, but good sides do what good sides do and we found a way ... honestly, even without the dissent freekick, i think we would have shut the game down (though we where well beaten in the midfield all day). Cripps last 5 mins was epic, and if anyone had any doubts as to why Williams is in the side, you only have to look at the very same play ... then the 1 handed mark by Curnow.

It was a brillant bit of plan by several players, and should not be glossed over in the win. It was the reason why we won IMO. Sheer will to get the ball forward and put ourselves in a winning position. they would not be denied.

If I was a Freo fan I'd be spewing, just like I was when Wiggins touched Riccardi's shot at goal and when SOS touched Long's kick on the goal line.

Treacy shitting himself and dropping an easy mark the bigger mistake than the umpires missing a touch that can only be confirmed from some random fan's footage that was fortunate to have been from the exact angle to see it.

Not arguing the dissent call. But four umpires obviously doesn't mean more eyes. So make a rule change. Bring in a coaches challenge. Don't know if that is the answer but bring in something so this doesn't happen again. It's fine to have a bit of Carlton arrogance, but when it happens to us in a Prelim - there'll just be a lot of tears. The game is great, but it has the potential to turn into a bit of a farce the way things are going.

Yeah that confirms the mark shouldn't have been paid, but who writes these bloody headlines... "Carlton's blatant robbery "? Get a grip.

Hell no to captain's challenges and all that crap. It'll be used for hopeful punts, we'll just get more of this "inconclusive, umpire's call" rubbish and a load of confected drama and outrage. Ask any football fan that's suffered through the last few years of VAR how that's working out for them. While we're on the topic, please do away with score reviews for behinds vs. oob. There's been loads of them this weekend, the crowd doesn't give a shit, most of them were obvious calls, just back yourself and get on with it. Everyone's far too precious, they're going to ruin the game with this American stoppy-starty crap.

Freo got a free kick for a high tackle that wasn't high on the replay.
An OOB against Freo in the Carlton forward pocket wasn't paid.

Do we gnash our teeth and replay those hundreds of times too, or do we only care about umoiring mistakes made in the last minutes?

Looks like Kennedy should have gotten one for being blocked in the footage of Treacy dropping the mark too.

What if Cotters missed but we scored a late goal because they turned it over on the kick out?

Etc.
