this is the exact kind of game that makes or breaks dow. Stepping in for our best mid in a game we have to win in front of 80k+

he has to get plenty of the ball and be clean. up til this point in his career he hasn't been able to at afl level - he's bottled it.

Not really
Cripps would come in as #1 mid
Cerra #2 if fit
Hewett next
Then maybe Dow depending on roles for guys like Doc, Cunners, Ed etc

Still a strong side. Still a chance Motlop Owies are available

Missing Walsh McKay Silvagni Motlop Williams Boyd Kennedy Durdin Owies
from best 25

Regular poster on BF saying likely only Cripps gets up this week, do you have any knowledge that would contradict this ? please say you do lol

I was told Cerra is fine. Time will tell

Yeah, I am feeling a bit of that too. I bloody hope it turns out like that.

That was a classic example of a team just digging in to win every contest and refusing to let a stronger team take control. I think from what I have seen over the past month or so, this team can do the same.

i don't know about any of that, but dow steps into walsh's role. extraction and gut running and clean use. he's not a bull like cripps, hewitt, or kennedy.

he's more like the lite version of walsh and cerra.

imo hewiit and cripps at the same stoppage is too top heavy

Heath Culpitt says hi.

It was Michael Mansfield's 200th game and Murray Vance's last game for Carlton.

What a time to be alive!

Marchbank 29 possessions and 10 marks in the VFL gives him the spot over Cowan. Cowan is young and has a future but he's a deer in the headlights at the moment. we need cool, considered decisions out of the back half and he's not there yet. He gets the ball and blasts it. There a time for that but not consistently.
Pitto's 16 disposals, 8 tackles, 8 clearances earns him a recall. We need TDK to gives us a physical target up forward or Charlie will be swamped by Murphy/Moore.

Young, Cowan and Honey go out.

Completely agree.

This team looks really balanced and if we plat same way we have for 5 weeks, this team can topple league leaders.

He’s not a gut runner either.

tbf, down the stretch last year in those tight, must-win games marchbank was bottling it and making more costly mistakes than anyone in our backline.

i'd sacrifice Doc and put him in the boyd role, and move ollie into the doc role.

having that mobility & run in the backline has been the biggest contributor (outside of Walsh's form) to our win streak. marchbank imo can only replace one of kemp or gov.

cowan can man-mark a player, but can't do anything else at this stage of his career so we need to replace him.

Sorry Braithwaite but tif I can’t agree with you summation of the last couple rounds in 2022.

We were in front till the last 30 secs of that game. March bank and the whole team played fantastic. No way did we lose because of ant defender, especially Marchbank. I don’t think you know what Marchbank brings to the game. He is quicker than you think and great skills .

Nevertheless if we pick on form Marchbank looked fantastic last week in the VFL, and Gov wasn’t good. Both could play a role vs Pies.

How many here are going to the game?
I got tickets just before they sold out.
Not expecting to win but hopefully they have a real go and you never know.

That’s a good description of Dow. He also gives up the chase, or doesn’t chase at all. Dow loves to jog.

i never said marchbank was the reason we lost. i just remember 2 or 3 times down the stretch marchbank making really bad decisions and poorly executing. his direct opponent beating him leading to goals. same with durdin.

marchbank and pittonet as ins, replacing smaller, faster, more agile and better users of the ball. it all sounds slow and lumbering like the 7 game losing streak to me.

i'd swap doc with cowan and give ollie the chance to play doc's role. he's courageous and will run all night.

Whatever happens, I just don't want Steele effing Sidebottom blatantly admitting to the press that he thought we were an embarrassment & a joke again.

Let's go Blues. Injuries or no injuries, it's a game of footy & we go all out to win it because we can win it.

Regarding Sidebottom. I hope we show that clip to the boys before the game. How disrespectful the little prick.

His smug face shits me. And the fact that this little unatheletic guy runs around with so much time and no one puts any pressure on him.

I wish someone would knock him out.

Jamie Elliot is another, and dont get me started on Darcy Moore an his stupid hair and smug strut thinking he is all that.
